Hosting a Dessert/Bake Off - need ideas

Hi! Long time, no post. :P

So, on Saturday, I'm hosting a "Dessert Throw Down" with a bunch of my dance colleagues. (Apparently all the guys are culinary geniuses.)

Anyway, I have prizes, but I am stumped on categories for the judges to place people into.

I have the following:

Best Overall Dessert
Best Presentation
Best Taste
Most Creative Use of an Ingredient
Strangest Main Ingredient

I have 6 "Golden Wooden Spoons" and a Grand Prize Alligator Rolling Pin (it's super cute!). So, I need 7 categories.

Any ideas?

  • Maybe healthiest dessert? Or you can do best pastry or best cake category. Great...now I want some cheesecake lol.

  • If there are kids coming, how about "Most kid-friendly" and letting them vote?

Or "Best summer dessert," "Most unusual/creative," "Best chocolatey dessert," or "Best fruit-based dessert."

If people have access to the recipes and see what's involved in making each thing, you could also vote for "Best quick-and-easy recipe."

ETA: If you think my ideas suck and you want others, try the "What's Cooking" board  :)
