say yes to the dress "big bliss"
TLC has been playing some special episodes of say yes to the dress entitled "big bliss". it featured full figured brides exclusively. what do you think about this? is it good that they are having bigger brides on the show, or should they be mixed in with the regular shows - after all they're brides too? and what do you think about the title?
Me:39 Dx LPD, Fibroid, AMA and all that goes with that. H:37 Dx low motility and low morphology. TTC since 3/12. Clomid 8/12 and 9/12: BFN. 11/12 on a break for Myomectomy sched. 11/26. Resume TTC early 2013.
Re: say yes to the dress "big bliss"
I was wondering what the "big bliss" was all about.
I find it annoying. Why single us out? Just feature us like any other bride.
I think the fuller figured brides should be on the regular show and not get a "special" show.....you're right, after all, they are brides too....us brides come in all shapes & sizes...and deserve to look & feel beautiful in our dress no matter what size. The average woman isn't a size 4 or 6...or even an 8. Isn't size 12 or 14 the average? .Anyway, regardless, the show is about brides finding their dream dress, not about skinny minnies playing dress up....
Actually, the more I think about it, I find that pretty rude....& i don't like the name.

They used to have it where they were all together, and now for some reason they feel there needs to be a distinction. I guess its nice that they're emphasizing that plus-sized women can look and feel gorgeous in wedding dresses. But they can do the same concept by including them on the regular show.
While a lot of the girls on there recognize that they're "big bliss", I'd be horrified to think that it would be the focus of a national TV show.
I've heard that a lot of the women featured on "Big Bliss" had no idea that it was going to be on a separate show...and I haven't watched much of it but a couple people told me sometimes the consultants act annoyed at the inconvenience of finding a dress for a larger bride or talking kinda bad about how they look...if that's true, that would piss me off.
Either way, I think it's fine and dandy to feature brides of all sizes. But no need to segregate them into different shows - it just adds insecurity and makes plus sized brides feel even more different.
Now that's just wrong.....

I hate the title. HATE. And I agree, these girls should be featured on the regular show.
I mean, as a plus sized bride myself (ok can I be honest and say I hate the term "plus sized" also) I understand the challenges involved in wedding dress shopping, but I really don't think it needs to be highlighted the way this show does. It's really insulting.
The whole thing is gross.
