HTC inspire?

so, i started my new job on tuesday (YAY!) and due to the fact that i will need to be on site for shows a lot, it sounds like i'm going to need to either utilize my personal iPhone to get my email/calendar on OR get the company provided option which is the HTC Inspire.

does anyone have this phone? pros? cons? love it? hate it?

thanks!

Re: HTC inspire?

  • I don't have that one, but I used to have another HTC android phone. I loved loved loved it. In fact, I'm strongly considering ditching my iPhone (and paying the penalty) to go back to an android phone. BUT my work email/calendar are all Google, and Apple doesn't play well with Google.

I think the HTC phones are generally pretty easy to figure out, too.

  • I had an HTC android phone for my last phone (wasn't the inspire).  Loved it.  Also a HUGE fan of android.  I love being able to have my gmail, google calender, and google docs so easily accessible.

  • I have the HTC Hero and I love it. Best phone I've ever had. I already used google before I got my phone, so it was easy to sync everything.

  • I don't have the Inspire but I have the HTC incredible 2 and love it.  So very easy to access my email and calendar...and share with DH as well.  Love my android!!!
  • I guess I'm the lone android hater. I had a hero for a year and it was the biggest POS phone I've ever used. I would have rather had that big huge nokia I had in college (you know, the one that everyone had a million and a half faceplates for) than the hero.

I drove in a blizzard on the day I was eligible for an upgrade because I didn't want to be stuck with it for another minute.

Well that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with Android OS itself...it was more a hardware issue wasn't it?  I had the Hero for like 5 minutes and hated it from the second day I had it.  Returned it within the 14 days and got a different phone.  I've loved every android I've ever had except that stupid thing.  I think my absolute favorite though was the Samsung fascinate the galaxy S phone on Verizon...I still have one in an un-opened box that I'm saving for a rainy day...or in case my Incredible craps out.

some of my issues were hero related, but some were software issues. There were enough software problems that I opted to not get an android when I upgraded.

It didn't help that HTC's customer service sucked, and they did nothing to help get my phone working right, even though they admitted it was a problem.
