Based on what happened to me earlier

I thought this would be fitting:

On the bright side- my appt was today, babe is 5 lbs 4 ounces; NST was good (I had a couple of contractions, baby HR strong). She was going to do an internal but decided to wait a week since I fell today...So that fun is scheduled for next week.

Re: Based on what happened to me earlier

  • Good video!

Internals are not fun.  My Dr didn't start them until 38 weeks.  She said she didn't want to stir anything up since I was fine with waiting until my DD.  The one thing I really, really hated about internals is that I always felt like I was going to pee on my Dr during them.  Hope that wasn't TMI.

  • Glad the appointment went well! What's an NST again? I hear people talk about them but my doctor hasn't said anything about it.

It's a fetal non stress test. Monitors baby's HR and mama's contractions if any.

My practice does it if you have an u/s after 33 weeks.

Good to know. My doc hasn't mentioned doing any more ultrasounds but I guess I should ask just in case. Are you doing weekly appointments now?

  • Wow, contractions already? Although I guess I could have been, I had my first NST after 40 weeks, lol. Btw, I didn't think the internals were bad and mine were weekly starting at 37 weeks.

I am. This was my first weekly appt.

Pam, Yeah- I definitely have been having some braxton hicks contractions once in a while and remember the one or two I had yesterday while strapped into the machine. Not a big one at all, but yeah...

My doc is doing the internal next week (36w6d) and then will let me know if Baby A may make a June vs. July entrance. Now THAT scares the crap out of me!!!
