FFFC - 30 minutes early ;)

Give it up!!

 Mine:

My BFF is on the road back to OK (they have been living in TX) and while I am SUPER excited to have her back closer to me I am not as thrilled about the rest of her family.  ;(  She has children that could use more structure and a husband that doesn't have a real active role in the hard parts of parenting.

Re: FFFC - 30 minutes early ;)

  • When I really let myself think about giving birth, I become terrified. Afraid something will happy to Baby or to me, afraid DH won't be there in time (he's working OOT but home every night), scared I won't be able to handle it, just afraid of the unknown basically. This is leading to sleepless nights and me freaking out about other things--like the fact that maybe I have no clue what to do with a baby and that I'll be a bad mom.

My other confession--my mom didn't even get me a birthday card and it really hurt my feelings. I know, it's just a card but still... DH's birthday was a few weeks before mine--she got him a gift. Me? Not even a card (I don't care about a gift). WTF?
  • I'm not a fan of summer. At all. The hot temps, little rain...even after so many years in Oklahoma, I still complain about the temps. I'm jealous of H - he said it was 76 yesterday in Colorado.

I'm beginning to realize that I have no real adult friends in town anymore, and it makes me sad. There aren't even a lot of kids JJ's age at his daycare for the summer, so I can't even really initiate play dates. I've been just fine being on my own, but lately, it's bugging me. I'm so glad one of my friends came back from overseas this week, but I'm not sure what I'll do if she leaves again before the move.

  • I'm actually happy that my history course was canceled for June. I knew it was going to happen--only 2 people enrolled in the course. Of course only 2 people enrolled; it was a class about Bach Cantatas! An entire month about Bach Cantatas. Seriously. Why? Did the teacher want to publish some article about cantatas and wanted some grad students to do the work? Completely stupid.

This makes my tuition cheaper, and gives me the month of June to tackle the pee problem in the house and re-write my journalism curriculum. July, however, is going to be a nightmare for me. But, then I'll be done and I can celebrate receiving my Master's for real. (received my hood in May but still had the summer to go...didn't feel like I accomplished anything at the time.)

  • I am only being friends with my co-worker because she has a really close relationship with our boss and I know by letting her confide in me and hanging out with her will only look good to the management team. I am wanting to leave this department and over the past year I have been going through personal issues that I know came across to the job. Which has made me very mean and hard to be around, so I just kept to myself. Now that I have changed my attitude I see them opening up more to me, but I still don't like the job and want to leave so I am being overly nice to them just long enough for me to move to another section.
  • S/O bad baby names, when I was pg with M I *knew* she was a boy. We had tossed around some names. I was seriously considering nameing the baby Captain Jack lastname. Horrible I know. But we thought it would really cool if he was a football player and his nn could be Captain Crunch. Ha! I also thought as an older man he could go by "Cappy". We are no longer considering this name, but it was on our list at one time.

  • I am still whining around about my lack of vacation.  DH finally decided on the Bahamas then huffed and puffed about it for another week.  Our TA finally called on Tuesday to find out what was up, so I gave him our payment info and told him to book it.  I thought it was taken care of but the price went up $200 per person. I was so mad and could not figure out why DH kept dragging his feet.  Then DH confessed to me last night that his two friends that are getting married this year both want expensive @ss bachelor parties in Vegas or NOLA.  Well, isn't that fancy.  And I do realize that some people can't afford to eat and I am b!tching about not getting to go on a trip but I don't give a fvvck.

I just had a little giggle about "isn't that fancy." I don't know why, but I did. :) So, is he going to the parties, or is it yet to be determined?

Oh, well, he is PLANNING BOTH parties so I am not sure how he can plan the parties then be like "oh, whoops I can't go."  Uh huh.  So, apparently he is going. Even worse - one guy has been living with his fiance and the other is already technically married so...I don't "get" why either of them need expensive out of town getaways.  You're not technically a bachelor anymore so...spend a Friday night at a strip club and get over it.

Oh dear. I could see how that could get very expensive very quickly. Well...since he's planning it, maybe he'll be able to have more control over the situation and potential expenses. Maybe? Kinda? Somewhat?

I think I might've mentioned this before, but I was named Strawberry until like, two weeks before I was born. My dad finally convinced my mom that Strawberry was NOT a good idea. I think I would've legally changed my name by now if that had happened.

  • I have been looking for another job for awhile now. I applied for one last week and I know a few people who work at this place (they already talked to their boss about me) so I have a pretty good chance of getting it. The way things are going right now at work if I do get this job I plan to quit current job the day they call and offer it to me and start the new job the next day. I know this is really bad etiquette but my boss shows no repect and doesn't appreciate at f&*king thing I do. I really just want to show her how she needs to respect the people who keep her a$$ out of hot water and not throw them under the bus everytime she gets a chance.

I check out books fairly often, but forget to renew them on time. If I don't pay my fines in the next 2 weeks, I'll be put on the delinquent list and can't check out any more books till I pay. Embarrassed
