Thank you re: financial advisor
Whomever recommended Roshan with Arete Wealth Management financial services I'd just like to say thank you. We've been working with him for the past few months and he has truly given us a clear path for our financial future. I told him that we were recommended by someone on the nest but I just wanted to come back and say thanks!
Re: Thank you re: financial advisor
Butting in - we are shopping around for a financial advisor, actually. I googled Arete, and it looks like they are based in IL. Is Roshan local? Where is he located? Or do you generally communicate via e-mail/phone? Can you share more info?
Thanks!
Here is the link to his page with his contact information - http://www.aretewealth.com/advisoryteam/RoshanLoungani.php
He is in Tyson's. I believe he will travel to you. We talk on the phone, we e-mail, etc. Whatever works for our situation at the time.
I recommend setting up a meeting with him. It is complimentary. Figure out if he is what you need. I personally believe you need to be completely comfortable with your financial planner. When you talk with him, tell him Kathy and Greg recommended him.

This is how it is for us. Not sure if he has changed it for new clients or not.
He has a flat fee (I think it is about $700). But, that is not an annual fee. It is for each financial plan he puts together (he has done one for us in the 4 years we have worked with him). We are redoing ours later this year now that we have reached our initial financial goals. But, he makes commission on some of the other investments or insurance plans, so the money does not come out of your pocket.
If you need more information, feel free to e-mail me at kathy_iwalani@hotmail.com

We paid the flat fee, and that was two years ago. He hasn't charged us anything since, and we've had MULTIPLE meetings, phone conversations, and countless emails with advice and support. He never hesitates to answer any questions, and regularly meets with us to make sure we're still on our plan to meet our goals. We didn't have the budget to redo our financial plan this spring (which would warrant another fee), and he didn't pressure us to do so. Instead, he helped us figure out where to better budget, and made a plan for a possible redo this fall (since we bought a house last year and our finances have changed as a result).
We love Roshan, and I think he works the referrals to get more customers. We found him through Kathy on here, and don't hestitate to get his name out to more people (and we don't get any kickbacks from him to do so)
