need a new job ASAP!

I'm so over my job. I've been there for over 2 years and I'm ready to move on. I'm a pharmacy technician and I don't want to do that forever. So basically I'm looking for job ideas. Do you love your job? what do you do?

Re: need a new job ASAP!

  • I would suggest finding a career counselor, maybe at a local college. They can really help you figure things out.

We'd need more details that you provide. What your interests and talents are, what your education level is, if you want to stay in pharmacy in a different capacity, why you are "so over" your job, etc.

I am a freelance medical director. It requires an advanced degree. I love it because I learn something new every day, and it keeps me mentally challenged.

  • I work in online advertising and LOVE it! (Completely different career type) but really it is always something new, tons of innovation, flexible working (Work from home, flexible hours) and the people are awesome - plus there is a lot of opportunity for advancement and great salary growth!

  • I agree with PP as to wanting more details as to why you dont like your current job, what your academic level is, etc...

But, I'm a Social Worker and I love it.  I love to help people ... it does require an advanced degree and licensure though.  Another job I always found really interesting but have never gotten into was Emergency Medicine.  I like jobs that are busy, fast-paced, and not sitting at a desk all day.

  • I love my job.  I'm a family law attorney.
  • I love my job! I have the opportunity to meet women from all walks of life.  I am a business owner of a jewelry company and help women find their perfect pieces and share their love of fun and jewelry.
  • Aw, you're not alone. Every year I tell myself that I'll find a new job before my next year is up and here I am on year 3. I work for a large management company in property management (apartment complexes). The pay and benefits are good for me but my commute stinks and the job just isn't for me although some people love it. It involves lots of desk work and being rather heartless at times which is everything I'm not. I have a B.S. in business administration but definitely chose the wrong degree path due to pressure from my mom to go to school.

I'd love to hear what everyone else does also! It's tough trying to find a career that you love AND can pay the bills, especially when you live in a small town!

  • Jaje can I ask what company you work for? If you don't want to answer that's understandable! I'm about an hour and a half from Boston and I was curious about internet marketing jobs, I couldn't seem to find any when I did a search. Any info would be great! Smile
