I am applying for a job as an Integration Facilitator at a local college. Basically I would be working with young adults who have special learning needs to help make their time in college as successful as possible. I am currently a grade one teacher, and I have been teaching in elementary schools for the past 4 years, so while this job is related to my field of expertise, it is not a perfect match to my experience and qualifications.
Do you think I should send my regular teaching CV that I use to apply for classroom teaching positions or should I downsize my CV (it is currently 2 pages) to include only the most relevant experiences?
Right now the headings on my CV are: Education, Teaching Experience, Additional Experience, Professional Development, and Leadership and Co-Curricular Activities.
The hiring committee at the college won't care that I cheoreographed the school musical or coached the soccer team right?
I was thinking of listing: Education, Relevant Experience (where I highlight my experiences working with students with special needs), Additional Experience (where I list my other teaching experiences that did not relate to special education), and then Professional Development (where I pull out just a few of the workshops I have attended related to special education). I think I will leave off Leadership and Co-Curricular Activities altogether.
Thoughts? I appreciate any advice that you may have.
Thanks!
