Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

My mother drives me Bat Sh!t Crazy...
Ugh! My cousin who I'm not close with is coming home in August for a couple weeks with her kids and DH (they live in tx - he is in the army) and they are having a bday party for thier youngest I guess (no one tells me anything) anyway. I posted a picture on FB last night and my aunt from IL asked what we were doing on 8/13 and hoped it wasn't a big work thing for me...This family event will most likely be like 2-3 hours away from us too.
My mom responded that nope none of us had anything going on. Um, glad you chose to answer for me mom but as of right now I have nothing going on but that doesn't mean something isn't going to come up...I can't look past my art show in July - August 13th is WAY to far away. I responded to my anut that I didn't know what 8/13 looked like as that was way to far away and I wasn't even thinking about it.
I just got back on FB and my mother decided to turn my fun post of Josh watching toons last night into a family fight...She posted that it was plenty of notice and I needed to take the day off since its a family thing...Um mom, are you going to start paying my bills? Work is what pays the bills not family functions that I can't stand going to.
We never see eye to eye on things, she just thinks that I can do whatever I want whenever...Weekends are a hot commidity here in ROckland as Rick is working at least one of the days during the weekend and we use the other as a family home day so I can shop and do the weekly errands...She drives me nuts!
Sorry, I know this doesn't sound like a huge deal but I am so tired of my mother planning my life and what we do when that I can't stand it...

Ugh, I hate when silly family obligations/discussions spiral out of control! I agree with you, August 13th is way to far out to think about now. While it's nice to have a heads up for the date, your mom needs to respect the fact that you have your own family things going on and you will make a decision accordingly. Boo.
