D&R Related: What Projects Do You Have Lined Up?
I'm bored out of my mind. Indulge me.
What D&R projects do you have lined up or are you thinking about doing?
-This weekend I'm refinishing the bedroom furniture as I previously mentioned.
-Next weekend, I'm painting our entry way & copying Jennasue's wainscoting in our entry way.
-& now, DH & I are already looking into ripping up the carpet in our living room & replacing it with Pergo or another wood laminate flooring.
Re: D&R Related: What Projects Do You Have Lined Up?
Hmm... I wonder if it'll be pink or blue
We're planning to put in a tile backsplash in the kitchen.
We're going to rip out the laminate flooring in our bathrooms, kitchen and laundry room and put in tile.
We're also going to cover our back porch, right now it's just a concrete slab.
None of this will take place until next year since we put in bamboo flooring this year.
I'm going to say girl this time, but we'll find out in about 12-13 weeks.
YAY! Feel free to msg me if you have any questions during the process!
I'm so excited that I infused some D&R life into this board, lol
Our list is never ending.... seriously... I could fill every single weekend for the next 2+ years with projects I want to do if I had the time. But off the top of my head...
Currently in progress:
New tile flooring in the kitchen, foyer and guest bath
New tile backsplash in the kitchen (all the tile is going in next week)
New toilet, vanity, mirror, lighting and repainting in the guest bath
New tile flooring, tile wall, vanities mirrors, toilet, shelving and lighting and repainting in the master bath and closet
Next up:
Kitchen cabinet repainting
Open shelving built in kitchen
Finding & refinishing dining room table
Figuring out an outdoor grill (DH wants to do a built in outdoor kitchen)
Then after that:
DIY fabric padded headboard
Hanging bedroom wall art
Figuring out a frame wall arrangement for the LR
Replacing our front door glass with frosted glass
New foyer light
Crown molding throughout the house
Recessed lighting throughout the house
Sometime after that:
Wainscoting in master bedroom
Stackstone fireplace
Stackstone covering the brick on the front of the house
Reglazing both showers to white (or maybe new tile if we become rich)
Installing a closet system in the walk-in
Either tile or polished concrete in the sunroom
Figuring out a sunroom furniture arrangement
Upgrading to SS appliances and new washer/dryer
Garage workbench and shelving
Planting palm trees in the front yard
Fire pit & chairs in backyard
Backyard patio surface refinishing
.........I need to start making more money
Actually, I do have a question.... How far apart did you do the vertical boards? The tutorial you linked said about every 20 inches, but I figured I'd ask you as well.
FIL helped me make on last summer.... It was super easy & I love my results!
I have a nice, long list.. but the ever expanding belly is keeping me from really starting on anything because I know it won't get done anytime soon.
I really want to start from scratch - our house is really dark. Dark wood floors, dark furniture, dark accent colors (it's like a freaking Starbucks in here without the yummy coffee). I want to lighten it all up and have a nice airy feel to it.. I have SO many ideas.. I'm nervous to start though because everything ties together nicely now, so it's going to look really odd having a bright, colorful bathroom with the rest of the house.. or living room.. or kitchen.. you know?
Congrats, Madisen!
Awesome! I'll have to get some tips from you when we do ours.
Our two bigger dining room walls were 8' and it worked out perfectly to space them 16.5" apart (to avoid all three outlets). The spacing is really up to you, and you can even adjust it a bit for each wall and no one will notice. I would just try to avoid outlets and then experiement with different spacing to see what works best. GL!
In the immediate future, I will probably get a couple cans of Krylon to refinish the door handles/plates.
We would also like to rip out the back deck and put in pavers (I think we'll pay someone to do this though)
We need to get our front porch railing sandblasted and repainted because it's super rusty.
Ripping down the wood paneling in the den/breakfast nook and getting drywall (YAY!)
Possibly ripping out the one small patch of carpet we have in the den and extending the wood floors from the breakfast nook.
How is it that my BABY is going to be 3?

I'm also going with girl here

Great! My plan is to draw everything on the wall with pencil before I start cutting or nailing anything, so that should give me a chance to play with the spacing.
All in all, the headboard took about 10 minutes to make. FIL hung it with a 1x4 cut diagonally in the center with one half screwed into the wall & the other half screwed into the headboard so it hangs via the wood. It makes it pretty easy to move & re-adjust if needed.
Are you going to DIY this? I really need to have this done in both our bathrooms.

Oh & I also want to expand our patio out a little further.
& our grass looks like ***, so we have to figure that out. I think it just gets wayyyy too much sun in the front yard.
We just finished putting up drywall in place of the built in "entertainment center." So, now, I have a few furniture pieces I want to get: (I'm bored, so I'm posting pics.)
and
I want to make some valences for the curtains in the living room. I have some photo framing projects (for the entry and kitchen). Maybe something like this around the tv, I have no idea from where I stole this pic.

That'll pretty much finish the living room/main area. My kitchen is coffee/cafe themed. I've been taking pics of little cafes I like in my travels, so I'll be doing a framing project for those and hanging them on the big wall in the kitchen. I'd really love to get a new dining room table, but that's a year or 2 away.
We have to get the nursery in order. I plan on waiting to purchase and really decorate it until we know what we're having. But, I have most of it in my head and planned already depending. (Inspiration for "boy" nursery.)
I also have some ideas to finally get our master bedroom finished. It needs a few touches. I'd really like to get all this done before mid-November. I need to get on it!
We're gutting and redoing the kitchen. That starts June in a little less than 3 weeks.
Ripping up the linoleum in the foyer, kitchen and dining room and replacing with tile
New carpet in the rest of the house
Painting every room except the bathrooms and one guest room
Setting up and decorating the nursery
We have a busy next few months.
Paint the stairway
Decide on a bed to build from Ana White's website
Decorate the spare room
Paint the cabinet in the spare room
Paint the kitchen
Furnish/Decorate entry area *Help?*
Buy/install kitchen cabinet hardware
A long list of small projects
DIY this mirror, but 8 inches shorter.
Is the second one from Havertys? It looks just like the media stand for the bedroom set we're planning on getting.
Tomorrow we are putting some finishing touches on the nursery. We are going to build this mirror frame.
And build these shelves.
Probably not
We need to reglaze the bathtub too so that might get tricky. DH would always rather pay someone so that's probably the route we'll go. It's only a few hundred bucks or so.
We're actually thinking about getting the Panama bedroom set, including the shorter media center. It's gorgeous furniture!
Thanks! Now that I have adorable pics from JHaps, I'm going to add Gussy into the mix. I hung those a few weeks ago, before we even knew Gus would enter our lives
Where did you guys move? What happened with your house? I knew y'all were really unhappy there....
That nursery is farking adorable & creative!
