Similac and Enfamil sent me a crapload of samples. Well, giant containers in huge boxes, to be more accurate. I didn't even sign up for them! BRU or Target clearly sold my name and address to them.
Is there really much of a difference between Similac and Enfamil anyway? I figure I'll try some of the samples out on Baby C if I find I need to supplement his/her breastmilk.
I dont know who sold your name because I don't recall signing up for Similac, either. I also got the boxes of samples also. I haven't received anything from Enfamil. I also got a ton of samples from Dan's aunt who is a nurse in the maternity unit.
Nutritionally, there's no difference between formulas unless it's specified on the bottle (i.e. colic/reflux, soy, etc). I think it comes down to what your baby prefers in taste and texture. Evie was given Similac in the hospital to supplement in the first week, so she was used to that one. A few weeks later when I had to supplement her again because I had another MRI and I didn't get to pump enough breastmilk, we tried giving her Enfamil and she hated it, so I went back to using the Similac samples I had. I'm very tempted to give away the Similac samples I have but I'm not sure if down the road, I'll need or use them whether it's because I can't BF anymore or if I'll use it in her cereal.

I have been using Enfamil since this is what they gave me at the hospital. We actually were asked if we wanted samples and coupons sent from the hospital. Its probably where they are getting the information.
Good to know MB uses Enfamil too! I havent used many of the coupons and checks yet, so I will send them to her if I dont plan to use!

Only a few months to go before we're onto milk, but with Sam eating 28-30oz a day, at $25 a pop I'll take anything right now!
