10 months and counting!!

So Aug '10 Nesties...we are into our 10th month of being married ladies!

Have you started to think about and/or plan what you will be doing to celebrate your 1st Anniversary?

DH and I are planning a trip back to Mackinac Island for another 3 nights/4 days of playing on the Island! We are very excited about it! We had such a great time for our mini-moon there, and want to make it an annual trip actually!

We also have a gift certificate to one of our fave restaurants from my Mom's shower still, so we will be going out for a lovely dinner on the 14th, since our trip will be happening the week leading up to our anniversary weekend!

Re: 10 months and counting!!

  • I am actually trying to plan our weekend away now.  And it is funny that you mention Mackinac Island, because DH and I moved to MI in December and so we wanted to spend our anniversary weekend at one on MI's touristy places.  I've heard great things about Mackinac Island.  You'll have to tell me where's a good place to stay, things to do, and places to eat :-)  Our other idea was to Traverse City...

  • We're going back to the swanky restaurant where we ate the night DH proposed on our actual anniversary date.  Then we'll be taking a celebratory vacation to FL sometime in October though, since that's my fall break.

  • WOW I cannot believe we have been married 10 months as of yesterday.  I am hoping to do a little staycation on our anniversary!  I better start researching that now.  Boy oh Boy so many things have changed in the last year.
  • We are getting a cake from our baker for our first anniversary, so definitely enjoying that first. Then, possibly a weekend away... we recently got addicted to Jersey Shore, and DH wants to introduce me to the real JS... this may be our get away :)
  • Spending the weekend at the venue where our wedding was, and enjoying more of the delicious Greek food we ate our wedding night :-)
  • We were going to go to Put-in-Bay and spend some time, but my dad's parents' 50-year anniversary is the 12th (our anniv the 14th) and they are having a big party in Buffalo with realitives and we get home the 14th. We've just reciently decided that for my dad's 50th birthday (9 months and 2 days after my grandparents anniv, lol) we are all going to go to Orlando. So that will take a lot of money because Disney is expensive. So we'll probably just go to the Melting Pot on the 14th.

  • DH and I will actually be flying back from our honeymoon the day of our anniversary.  Not the best way to spend our time on our anniversary, but the five days before that will be awesome!!  We're so excited to be going on our honeymoon finally.  We'll also be getting a replica of our top tier of our wedding cake from our baker to eat on our anniversary; we didn't save the top tier because our venue forgot to give it to us and misplaced it....
  • I think we'll probably spend the weekend up at the lake. We'll have campfires and drink beer and hopefully take the boat out. Nothing super exciting, but in Minnesota, summer weekends are their own vacations.
  • We will actually be at Yosemite for our anniversary.  We will be with DH's family though.  It will still be nice.  This is going to signify the end of his summer in San Francisco, and he will be coming home after the trip!  We will really celebrate during his first weekend back at home.  That is when we will have a replica top tier of our wedding cake from our bakery.

  • Everyone has such wonderful plans! DH and I finally decided that we can afford to go away for 3 nights for our anniversary (yay!). I know he was a little worried about it, but it will be our only vacation of the year and we're going to keep it small. We're going to go to Cape May and stay in a bed and breakfast. Both of us spent every summer of our childhoods down there, but we've never gone there together, so we're really excited for this new experience. We're going to go to awesome restaurants and just relax at the beach and explore together. So excited!!!
  • Oh, and we're going to bring our unopened tequila that we bought on our honeymoon and we're going to (ewwwww) try our wedding cake that's been in the freezer for the year!!
  • 10 months today!

DH and I are going to take a road trip to Florida in August!  He has only been to Orlando, so we are going to skip it and  see other sights.  I would love to go the the keys and the west coast, but haven't started planning yet.
