poor hubby...but i have to laugh.

you guys are prolly not familiar with the area of baltimore h & I are living in currently (except you bmw)...but i'll explain the neighborhood this way....it's very interesting, something is always going on and people are always outside & what not....& they know everything about this person & that person...LOL.

Poor H is out front with a ladder working on the gudder and I got out to see if he needs anything....and ALL the neighborhood guys are out there standing in their yards looking at him & talking/suggesting,etc.....all up in his bizness.   I know he is so annoyed, but he's being gd & playing polite...(so far)

So, i bow back inside hoping not to get sucked in.....then h comes in looking for a tool and is like "geez, the whole neighborhood's out there today" - "why don't you come out kate? fuzzy nuts misses you" (we nicknamed this guy across the street that, long story, but he's a talker who will stop you to talk to you about nothing for hours.  "no, i'm fine in here, dear" Stick out tongue

So, I'll be doing inside house work today if i can help it!!!

Re: poor hubby...but i have to laugh.

  • oh, and btw....no i haven't seen the neighbor's nuts (gross), he got that nickname cuz his last name is butterfuss....and he's a little kuku.  H called him that once & it just stuck.

Sorry, in hindsight, I felt the need to clarify that.  LOL.

  • Oh I am so familiar with that. Good Ol'dalk!!

At least your in one of the neighborhoods where they take care of their property. That's the old school Dundalk folks for you. Then you have the straight up white trash that just doesnt care at all, but for the most part you have to hand it to them with the pride they take in their yards and cars! Wish I could say the same for my "hood".

    ahhhh, the 'dalk.  luving it.

funny you say that....i have noticed that there are some really nice cars parked around these parts, and yes, there are the nice kept yards, and then there are the ones where they take pride in displaying as many tacky yard decorations as possible....think pink flamingos & purlple palm trees.  Paradise

couple weeks ago, h heard there was a yard sale on the street and we were curious, so we walked up to this house w/ all this stuff in their yard...& glad I questioned it b4 we walked into their yard.....b/c that wasn't the house that was having a yard sale!!!

  • you live in a row house, right? i'm wondering if it's this type of housing because we're in a TH and my h gets mauled too with chatterers. it's hysterical. sometimes i try to save him and other times i just laugh. what's funny is us women neighbors  totally ignore each other! you'd think it would be the women who want to chat but we all generally just walk inside. there are a couple i'll chat with but for the most part, no. i do like some of the men though. i can't wait until we move into a real house that's got some distance from neighbors. although maybe that will be lonely.

do you guys wait inside if someone chatty is outside? like if we need to take the trash out or go to our car we'll wait until whoever has gone inside if we're not in the mood.

Me:39 Dx LPD, Fibroid, AMA and all that goes with that. H:37 Dx low motility and low morphology. TTC since 3/12. Clomid 8/12 and 9/12: BFN. 11/12 on a break for Myomectomy sched. 11/26. Resume TTC early 2013.

Ha ha, yes, it's a row house...and I agree, it's the type of housing that fosters this "friendliness".  And I never really thought about it but, yup, there's only one lady that I talk with (& her husband).  All the other ladies stay inside and don't socialize.

Some have talked to h on occasion, & he said they are really caddy.  So, i guess that's for the best.

And, YES!  We do soemtimes wait to go outside if neighbor's are out....especially fuzzy nuts.  He's the worst!  Last week I specifically woke up super early to mow the lawn so he wouldn't come over & "chaperone"....but sure as god made apples he came out.  Tongue Tied

We'll also signal each other to duck if we have the windows open and one of us sees him walking up the walkway at the neighbors....we're awful people.

  • i know what you mean. we have one neighbor who i love to death but his famous line is, "let me just tell you one more thing and then i'll let you go." i guess he knows he's long winded. one time i came home from work for lunch and i never got inside because i was talking to him (or he was talking to me). i just turned around and went back to work (actually his dog had died not too long before so i guess that's a bad example because i was consoling him. otherwise i probably would have been probably gone inside).

like i said it's not that we don't like him, it's just sometimes you're not in the mood. we have another neighbor who will come up and knock on our door and ask for my husband. it's cute because it's like, "can frank come out and play?"

  • Smile that's funny.  I guess it could be worse, we could have a-hole neighbors...

Hahahahha oh I know exactly what you mean. I'm not sure what part of D you live in but there are these group of row houses on German Hill RD on the right side if you are coming from Merritt Blvd, right across from the cemetery. They are the definition of tacky lawns!!
