When we started potty training, G would poop in the potty pretty consistently. He has regressed off and on. The last few days he doesn't want to poop in the potty. I can coax him into letting a 'nugget' out, but that is all. I told him a couple days ago if he pooped in the potty twice and didn't poop in his pants we would go get ice cream. He has been talking about wanting an ice cream cone since last weekend so I thought this would be motivation. I usually put a pull-up on him at nap time because he is gated in, but if he hollered that he had to go, I would get him. He hollered tha he had to pee yesterday, and I went up, he peed, then he went back in his room to nap. I am perplexed. He took to it so easily at first. I am frustrated and grossed out by the poopy underwear. Any ideas?
Re: Regressing on #2 - TMI
While I haven't even started potty training, I have two nephews, who had 'poop issues' I think most kids are scared to go #2 in the potty. maybe the splash is scary?
Can you make it fun? Like hang a sheet of paper on the door, so every time he goes #2, he can put a sticker on the paper?
When my cousin and his GF were training her son, they used rub on tattoos, Brix LOVED those!
I'm all for bribes when it comes to pooping in the potty, poopy undies not fun! Good luck!
