Our dog is on a light dose of Prednisone usually in the warmer weather months. his skin issues got so bad he was itching like mad and he ended up losing hair on his back half. The prednisone helped so much, but then we found this oil that you add to their dry food at Three Dog Bakery, I am so sorry I am not sure what it is called and could not find it on  google...we just ran out too so they better still sell it! Once we started using this, his coat grew back and he has not had any issues since...and we barely use the prednisone now (which makes me happy b/c I am a freak and worry about his kidneys being on this)..

We have to grab more of the oil stuff so when I find it I will keep you posted :)

  • That would be awesome!  I think I'll try to stop in there this week when we make a trip out to Plymouth and maybe someone there can point me in the right direction.  I'd love to get off this stuff. We use the prednisone all year long.  We used to have to do 1 whole pill now we do 1/2 every day.  I haven't given him any in a few days and we haven't had the signs of itchiness, so hopefully the move to a new area has helped his allergies as much as it has me!!  Fingers crossed.

  • Ok if you go....look for a white bottle with red/black writing, they of course will know what you are talking about, but you add it into their dry food, you just squirt it, almost looks like a contact solution bottle!
