Where to board my dog

Ok, so The Dude and I are going to Rehoboth for a week and we need to put Binzo somewhere. My sister goes to Wagworth in Malvern but that is so far from our house and mad expensive.

We have the option of boarding her at the rescue but to be honest, I'm a little nervous about that. She had worms when we got her and from what I gather, a lot of dogs on the tracks have worms so I hesitate to let her go back and interact with the new dogs they have.

So anywho...does anyone know of a good place closer to Glenside/Abington area?

Re: Where to board my dog

  • I've heard good things about Best Friends Pet Care in NJ.  They have a location in Willow Grove, I'm assuming the care would be similar.

I personally use a place in Lindenwold, NJ, so not very helpful to you.

When are you going to Rehoboth?  We're down there week of August 20th.

  • Casa De Beagle.

    I'm only half kidding.

  • We've boarded our cat at Molly's Country Kennel.  It's off of Morris Rd,  west of Blue Bell.  Not as far as Jerz.  I toured and saw the dog area and it looked really clean and the people there were super nice.

ha that would be awesome! Except I have no clue what the reactions to your kitties would be.

Thanks everyone..I'll look into these options :)

    Lando..I'm emailing you.

  • We've boarded at Greyhound Angels before and it was fine. I'd rather take her to a much "nicer" place but we figured that since that is where we got her from, they know how best how to take care of her.

and this is where I become torn. I want to just bring her back bc they know what the expect from her and its easier. But I also almost feel bad like..will she think she's going back for good? ha. I'm insane, clearly.

  • I used Best Friends before and my dog ended up injuring himself and no one noticed - I took him to the vet, who called animal control to report Best Friends because they felt it was obvious neglect (since I had paid for playtimes, they should have noticed, unless they never actually took him out for playtimes)... Animal control person told me that they had many complaints about Best Friends.   Just my two cents and personal experience with them - this was the location in Maple Shade, I can't speak about their Willow location.
  • I had told Val about a place in Warminster called RC Dogcare before and I am pretty sure she said she ended up using them and liking them.   I never actually had used them, but had looked into them in the past.  Might want to check with her to confirm.

I was worried about this too!! BUT - she was actually excited to see the staff there. I don't like the idea of her being crated during the day but they do let them out for "play time." She usually smells like Greyhound Angels (you know that dog-smell!) when she comes home, but she's always happy and not traumatized. :)

My vet owns this boarding facility.  I have not used them, but I have been there, and it is a very nice place.  It's near the Airport, right off of 95.
