My BFF Brenna called me this weeken and told me her boyfriend of 5.5 yrs proposed!!! Her FI (eeek!) is the one that just got the job with Miller/Coors in north NJ, so I figured since he got the job and has been there a few weeks this was probably going to happen soon.
He did it in front of both of their families together at a restaurant, his mom gave her a crystal paperweight which had inscribed on the bottom Will you marry me? Brenna was confused b/c it was from his mom, then she saw Josh get out of his seat and got down on one knee and said some really sweet things and asked her to marry him! Of course she said yes! And the ring is gorgeous she says, and I get to see her Wednesday for our sushi date celebrating my birthday and now her engagement too!!
I kinda want to get her something, perhaps something that she might find helpful during her engagement and planning time. Any thoughts? I bought planner books but they turned out to be really useless when it came down to it. TIA for any suggestions!
Re: AW: My BBF/ MOH!!
WooHoo!
As for a gift, I would just give her a card with your phone number huge inside. CALL ME FOR HELP!
Aw good for her!!! That's exciting and I'm sure you are looking forward to helping her plan!
When my bff got engaged recently, a bunch of our girlfriends got her a giftcard to Macy's to get her started on her registry, and a pair of crystal toasting flutes, which they can use at their wedding reception. She loved that idea
How exciting!!!! Maybe a mani/pedi gift certificate for whenever she gets stressed during the planning?
Awww...that sounds so sweet!
Those planner books are useless! I would give her a link to TK and tell her that when she sets a date she has to find her month group

And seriously - a cute reusable bag that she can carry her planning necessities in.

I'd buy her a few wedding magazines - yes they are useless, but they are so much fun to look at when you are just starting out and your possibilities seem endless. Oh, and also send her to TK
