Re: Flame-free Friday

  • I really need a part-time job this summer, but i kind of don't want one. I have a lot of research and reading to do this summer and i'm still 'working' at my internship, so it already feels like i have a part time job. But we could really use the money so we're not destitute. :-/
  • My colleague made a huge error regarding programming my students for next year. It's not his responsibility so I'm not sure why he was put in charge of this really important task. And he screwed it up. I basically suggested to him that perhaps if he didn't know how to use the program he was using he shouldn't do it next year. Of course he was offended. Whatever. You screwed it up and shouldn't be getting anywhere near it next year.
  • I'm quitting the pump next Saturday (DD's turns 6 months). I'm excited and feel guilty all at the same time. I really wanted to breastfeed, but being she wouldn't latch on, it wasn't an option so I've been pumping for 6 months. It sucks because I have to be home every few hours to do it, but of course it's good for my baby, so that's my guilt. I hope she likes formula. Plus, I'm going back to work at the end of next month, so it wouldn't be so easy to keep up with it (that's the rational part of me). =/

Bonnie, kudos to you for pumping for 6 months.  If G and I never worked out our latch issues, I could never have EP'd for as long as you did - I HATE my pump with a fiery passion, and I want to throw it out the window of my office every time I strap it on.  Seriously, I HATE it.  So, I think you are awesome for lasting so long! Don't feel guilty!
