What's your favorite go-to summer drink?

What drink screams summer in your mind? Is it alcoholic/ non-alcoholic? Fruity?

Let's hear it. :)

Re: What's your favorite go-to summer drink?

  • My old-faithful is peach schnapps and ice tea.  So delicious!
  • Mine's a peach ice cream slurry. My grandmother used to make it when I was growing up with fresh peach ice cream she made.

I tried the Chic-fil-a version  a couple of years ago and it was so gross though. Hopefully I can figure out how to make a similar version this year.

Caesars scream summer to me.  When I used to tend bar, I noticed people would order them most frequently in the summer. If my stomach could tolerate the acid, I'd drink these the whole night at a bar.  usually I can only handle two or three though.

The (Canadian) drink is similar to a bloody mary, but its made with clamato instead of tomato juice, (plus worcestershire sauce, and tobasco), and comes with a big celery stick, wedge of lemon or lime, pepper, and celery salt on the rim (and sometimes horseradish).  Sometimes you'll find places that will garnish with nice things like scallops, shrimp, or even snow crab!  om nom nom nom

So my vote is the caesar!

I always think of fresh squeezed lemonade in the summer time, the sugary kind with actual lemons in the cup that you get at carnivals and stuff..mmm.

Also, an ice cold beer out of the bottom of a cooler screams summer to me.

    I second the Caesar!

I'm mostly a wine drinker, but I love a nice cold cider on a hot day too.

  • Alcoholic: Mike's Hard Lemonade, in all its varieties.  It's our pool-party staple, since I can't drink anything with much alcohol in it.

Non-alcoholic: regular lemonade, like Xan said.  The kind with almost too much sugar, and real lemons.  Bonus points for pink!
  • Normally it's a mojita or a really good (agave nectar, not sweet and sour) margarita.

But this year I'm sticking with Izze's.

I love Izze's. I could drink gallons of their pomegranate and blackberry juices.

Summer = Sangria, ice cold beer, and lemonade. (With or without vodka. Newman's has a pomegranate lemonade and it's delicious.  With or without vodka, heh.)

  • Non-alcoholic: a Coke from McDonald's, they have the perfect mixture of carbonation, water, & syrup that makes Coke taste better there than anywhere

    Alcoholic: Margaritas or Smirnoff Ice
