Certainly focus on transferrable skills, and if maybe you were an orientation leader in undergrad, or an RA, or a campus tour guide add that in. There is currently no connection from your resume to lead me to why you are applying for this position.
However, as someone who works in Higher Ed student development - I'm struggling to see your 3 years of experience that would even get you into my phone interview pile. Director level positions are very hard to get without direct experience and a masters in CSP or Higher Ed admin.
yes, this. the titles of your positions don't necessarily clue me in to how this potential job is a logical next step, so you need to highlight the big picture stuff you did and your accomplishments within the positions better. re-organize the bullets so that the leadership, oversight, and committee pieces are listed first....combine some of the current bullets so there aren't as many under each job....
do you have any community experience or did you do a capstone project as part of your master degree? do you have a killer cover letter?
I also fail to see how/why you want to make the jump from what you've been doing to this current potential job based on the way your resume is currently organized. you can make an argument for it, but you need it to be clear and compelling.
Right now your resume doesn't show any connection or experience working in higher education. Did you TA in college, volunteer for an Ambassador type club, maybe? Were you a GA in grad school? If so, I would recommend including this kind of info.
Also, how large is the university you are interested in? Is it private/public? faith based? for profit? I work at a public institution with a little over 28,000 and most of our director level positions are held by individuals with 10-15 years of experience in higher education. If it's a smaller school, then it may be easier to aim high and get in.

<a href="http://s279.photobucket.com/albums/kk121/behapybride/?action=viewThis exactly. I've been on a search committee for a similar position and they do tend to want the CSP of Higher ed degree, however it really depends on the department. We do have quite a few MBA's.
Its not impossible but you need to focus on transferable skills and how that translates into Orientation.
Thank you all for the feedback. I would really like to change careers and would like it to be in the Collegiate area. I wasn't sure how resumes were done now. I will definately try to make it more traslateable to the possition in which I would apply. Maybe I should apply for a lower level job at the school instead of jumping for the big posistion. I'm just so worried that I am going to be overqualified for any job that I apply for now b/c I have this Masters and no really good experience to back it up. It's a little scary.
Again, thanks. I will revamp the resume and post later.
Amber
dup. post.
He's my fairytale, a dream when I'm not sleeping.
<a href="http://s279.photobucket.com/albums/kk121/behapybride/?action=viewI think you will find that most entry level/mid level professionals in higher edu have a post-baccalaureate degree. I don't think you would be over qualified at all. At my university, the hierarchy is: secretary, program assistant, coordinator, assistant director, associate director, director, and so on. I know program assistants that have their masters. I think you may want to consider a position within the College of Business since you have your MBA... maybe look into academic advising?
