Stephanie ** answer to hair question PIP
We have a lot to B&M about today! The post was getting long..
Its not the color, I love the color, just lots of blonde highlights. Its not really the cut, its the breaking off I hate! It used to be all one length except my swoopy bang things.
Before...all one length...

And Now....all broken off...

And mind you this is a good hair day, 99% of the time it looks like I just took scissors and chopped it off.
Re: Stephanie ** answer to hair question PIP
I don't think it looks bad at all!
And your dress is cute
Have you thought about wearing it wavy, instead of straightening it? Maybe just until it grows out?
Maybe changing up the style may make you happier with it in the short term, until it grows out.
I would second this. Buy some gel and finding a diffuser attachment. Work with it over a weekend and see how it turns out. It should really help your hair especially if you're not using a lot of processes.
Is your husband a fireman? I think I remember you from TK...
So WHY is it breaking off again? I guess I missed that part. If it were me, honestly, I think I'd quit all processing and heat styling until some of the damage grows out. Maybe try prenatals also--I'm taking them to try and grow mine out and I've only been on them about 2 weeks and I think it's already working. I'd wear it in a low ponytail every day until you can get it in better shape.
But I really like your hair otherwise!

I agree with all of that besides the ponytail part. I've heard from several hairstylists that ponytails actually make your hair break off.
As far as products, I would honestly just go into Ulta and ask a specialist what they recommend to use to get a wavy/curly look without having to blow dry it.
My hair is naturally wavy, so I just let it air dry and do it's thing. But, there are a ton of different types of gels and products out there that you can use, I just don't know any off the top of my head.
But I definitely agree with Julie and Stephie, lay off the heat styling products as much as possible, and try the prenatal vitamins. It definitely can't hurt you.
I think it is cute! It looks like you cut it that way on purpose!
I agree with PP's about what to do. I'd also like some tips for wavy hair because no matter what I've tried in the past, it just won't do it.
ETA: Is there anything in your hair regimen that you have changed between the first and second pictures? Tools, products, etc? If so, I would try cutting that out or switching back and see if it helps.
I didn't read the entire B&M thread, but I agree with the others. I think your hair looks really cute in that picture. Have you tried any deep contioning treatments?
I kinda suck when it comes to hair. I just do whatever my stylist tells me.
Stephanie-yup he is a fireman, I haven't been on TK since we got married two years ago! I thought you looked familar! And I guess its breaking from heat styling, or about two years ago, (the first pic) I switched stylist, she uses Redken bleach, maybe my hair hates redken? But she says she doesn't do the ends? The onl differences is, I have been using Paul Mitchen Super Skiney, and over the last year, this Working Wax from Kenra on the ends to smooth. And a different shampoo (used to used like Panteen, etc, but over the past couple months I've been using Aveda or Renpure Organics.
I wish I could not flat iron, but I have that hair, that one side will be pretty straight, one area waved a little (and not a pretty wave), one area flipping out, one flipping under. LOL...its not uniformed my any means.
Buttercup...You have a deep conditioner treatment you have tried? I used one from Sallies a couple weeks ago. Ion something. I think I'm going to try it again tonight. She said only use it once a month.
I see this on the BB all the time--how can I repair my hair while still bleaching, heat styling, etc.? The answer is: you can't. Something is going to have to give. I hate to sound harsh but the reality is, you will have to stop processing and heat styling and give it time to repair itself. I would definitely find another colorist and you should probably stop bleaching and consider going back to a darker shade for awhile. Use a heat protectant before blow drying and flat ironing or a straightening product so that you only have to go over your hair once with the flat iron, not over and over. Your hair will not just magically get better unless you do something proactive.
I don't think this has anything to do with it, but when I used Aveda, my hair started falling out. My stylist suspected I was allergic to it because Aveda products contain botanicals.

Also agree about the coloring. It's so bad for your hair. What's your natural color?
I know coloring your hair can be addictive. I used to color my hair like nobody's business. It was bleach blonde for a while, then it was reddish/auburn, then it was so dark it was almost black for years.
About 2 years ago I finally gave up coloring all together for the health of my hair, and decided to go back to my natural color and I haven't looked back since. I am so thankful I did. My hair's texture and overall health are ten times better than they ever were when I was coloring it. Not to mention the money I save! Plus it does feel nice knowing my hair is the natural color I was born with.
The only thing I do to my hair is color it one color because I'm going grey.
If you buy a diffuser that fits onto the end of your hair dryer, you can flip your head over and scrunch it. I don't follow up like Lacey does with hairspray and that's probably why mine doesn't look all that great after about 2 PM.
Also, maybe try some deep conditioning treatments. I like 3 Minute Miracle by Aussie but definitely no hot oils.
Ditto Stephie on the cutting of the processes. Are you looking for a new person to style your hair? I can't remember. However, if you are, start calling a few places and tell them what's going on and ask if they can recommend a stylist who can help you with the wavy hair. I used to use a wavy spritz like Lacey described by Fructis but they stopped making it.
Crystal!!!! I got married like a week before you did!
I have mousy brown too so I go one shade darker. It helps it look richer and healthier. I would suggest my guy but he's in Grapevine and that's way too far for you.
Like I said, you got married like a week or so before me. My mom lived in Corsicana, and, up until about ten years ago, we used to nearly every weekend to visit my grandparents.
