AW Anniversary plans made!

And I'm so freaking excited about it!  One of the top restaurants in the world, The Fat Duck, is located just outside of London and we've been trying to get reservations there for the past year with no luck.  They book up two months in advance within a few minutes of the lines opening every morning.  I decided to give it another try this morning, and after hitting redial for 15 minutes I finally managed to get through and they actually had a table available for our anniversary weekend!  We'll probably make a weekend of it, and stay at a B&B in the area for the night.  This is what I have to look forward to!

Have you thought about or made any plans yet to celebrate in August?

  • That sounds awesome and congrats on finally getting through!  DH and I are headed to Paris for the weekend after our anniversary.  We'll probably just do dinner on our actual anniversary and then celebrate in Paris.

  • OMG The Fat Duck. That is amazing!!! That is going to be awesome.

I am plotting to buy DH a motor scooter for our anniversary. He has really been wanting one and I think it would be an awesome surprise. I now just have to keep saying "oh we don't need to spend that." and keep convincing him that it's a bad idea so he doesn't buy one.

  • That place looks amazing. I drooled a bit on my desk while scrolling through the pictures. I can't wait to hear if it tasted as good as it looks.

No anniversary plans for us. Probably eat out and just relax. I wish we could come up with something better, but I'll probably be the size of a house by then.

  • That looks Yummy!  My lunch doesn't look/sound so appealling now.

We have no plans at this time.  Waiting to see if DH is going to have to work.  We will probably end up doing a date night with just the two of us. Dinner and maybe a walk on the beach or a movie.

Oh man that sounds awesome.  The tasting menu looks so neat.  I would love to eat somewhere like that!

We don't have any plans yet.

  • That looks amazing, sushi! We don't have any plans yet. We're still trying to figure out a vacation. I'm not sure if we'll end up doing it on our anniversary weekend or not though.

  • That sounds incredible!

Russ is working again for our anniversary. I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever get to see each other for it. I'm working on getting some boudoir photos done for him and maybe the weekend when he'll be home we can go do something.

  • That's too expensive and too fussy for us.  Jim would hate it on both counts.

We have no plans for our anniversary yet.  I'm meeting some GP Nesties in Baltimore that Saturday, but we'll probably go out to dinner on Sunday (the actual date).

  • Oh, that restaurant looks amazing--what a great place for an anniversary dinner! Have fun. :)

No final plans yet, but we are looking to get away for a long weekend. We'll probably look for a nice hotel with nearby hiking in VA or WV; we did it last year in MD and had a blast.

  • That's awesome!  My boss in London took her boyfriend for his birthday, and she said it was quite the experience.  Can't wait to hear reviews.

We have no plans since we'll be on opposite sides of the world.  Boo.  Maybe skype yoga?

    Now jumping domestically.

  • We were planning on an extended weekend in a B&B and DH bought us tickets to go see Wicked at the beautiful Fox Theatre in Atlanta, but now if I get this new job I won't be able to go because I won't have earned time off yet!

Oo I love the fox. It's in my neighborhood. :)

  • We were planning on going to Jamaica, but we will likely be moving either on or shortly before our anniversary.  It's sounds stupid, but with our anxiety ridden boy cat, we can't just move into a new house and then take off for a week.  We're waiting to get our final closing dates, and then we'll plan a 3-5 day trip somewhere else instead after everyone is adjusted to the new house.

  • We will be at the Jersey Shore on our anniversary, but we are planning on taking a trip to Cooperstown in the fall for our real vacation. DH is a huge baseball fan, and has never been to the Hall of Fame.

  • That looks awesome!

For our anniversary we'll hopefully be told that we can have biological children. If the appointment can't happen then (depends on my cycle) We'll probably do a staycation and go to the hotel where we had our wedding and have the champagne brunch in the morning.

I'm thinking about doing something here at home though, with just us and the dogs, maybe like a no TV/Internet day, and just going to the beach with the pups.

  • OMG The Fat Duck!! Amazing!

We haven't really given much thought to our anniversary. We were going to go to a highly rated restaurant in Toronto called George for our birthdays and had to cancel when I went to Newfoundland. So we might do that. But it depends on what Tootsie has to say about it. I don't think it's a very family friendly place.

I love the Fox, too.  If you are offered the job, just negotiate for the day(s) off.  If you've already made plans, they should be willing to work with you.

  • Reba and eeeeva, I love the Fox as well! I have only been once before many years ago with my drama class, but it was beautiful enough that I remember it very well still and I'm excited for DH to experience it. I'm definitely going to have to negotiate for time off because my wonderful man already purchased the tickets to ensure we got the center balcony seats that I prefer and I am not missing out!
