Lookie here...re: The Help

Look at what I just found!!

The Help' movie trailer.  I am so looking forward to this!  I know I didn't *love* the book like some of you did but the movie looks like fun.

  • lol Kasi.... I must have googled "The Help Trailor" every day for 2 months waiting for the trailor to come out. Obsessed with the book? Yes! Being a history person probably contributes to my love for it! I'm sad you only gave it 4 stars!

Don't be sad.  I really did like it but I think maybe all the hype kind of killed it for me.  Honestly, it was a great book.  You can be happy I am excited to watch the movie.

Are you planning to read Divergent?  It's not that great.  It's missing substance.  Embarrassed  I know everyone loves that one too.

  • That's true... usually when there's a lot of hype surrounding something, you are just setting yourself up for disappointment. That happens to me with movies all the time!

The summary of Divergent didn't really catch my attention... glad for the warning though! Are you reading Unbroken now? I need to read that one this summer for sure! I'm reading In The Garden of Beasts right now... it's taking me a while because I'm too darn busy, but it's really good!

  • Also, have you read Shine by Lauren Myracle? It's only $2.99 on kindle right now and I want to check it out! Have you come across any good kindle books as part of the sale?

Yes, ma'am I am reading Unbroken. I am 17% into it. It's really good so far. As for the sale, I haven't really seen any books. Want to read but then again I only glanced at them. I may try The Paris Wife but it'gs sfull price. I downloaded samples of both Moloka'i and Shine.

As a non-ereader person, referring to the exact percentage is hilarious!

Haha, I know it sounds weird. OK, I'll calculate the page I was on...roughly page 84. Take the total number of pages and divide by percentage.

This is how I felt about The Help, too. I think I would have given it 5 stars if it hadn't have been hyped up so much and made me believe it was going to be the best thing I've ever read. As it happened, I gave it 4, but I really did like the story. I'm excited for the movie because I think it has a lot of potential. I also love Emma Stone and am excited to see her as Skeeter.

Interesting about Divergent. I just added it to me to read list. I might hold off a little bit because I pick it up. I have so many things to read that it won't be hard to ignore it fro a while.

  • I just saw the trailer for it last night and I was totally hooked. I didn't even know it was based on a book! .....:running off to find nearest book store/library::
