Okay, seriously, if he had just fessed up at the outset and said "yeah, I send nasty pics of myself to women on twitter, so what?", I think my response would have been -- Sorry for your wife, but I don't really care because it isn't illegal (assuming he wasn't using gov't resources -- remains to be seen).
But wtf is up with the pathetic cover-up attempt? If you're a perv, just fess up and people would have gotten over it much quicker than the lame lies and denials.
His poor wife. Bad enough to find out your new hubby is having virtual "affairs", but to find it out in such a humiliating public way.
I also hate the fact that men so often claim women are ruled by our emotions instead of our brains -- I can tell you right now, it does not seem to be their brains running the show for them most of the time either.
Okay, I think I'm done now.
Re: Weinergate -- wtf?
I agree 100%.
having worked in politics for a while, I can tell you that the majority of politicians really are scumbags. Few and far between are decent people, and when I do meet someone decent, it is such a pleasant surprise. One of the politicians I worked for was such a nice person, it was almost strange. Also, because they are in power and have other people literally doing everything for them, they think they are beyond moral codes. You should see the babying that goes on... it's almost amusing.
Weiner is an idiot. He was a pretty ambitious politician so it's ridiculous that he ruined his chances of higher office with this crap! Also, have you seen his gorgeous wife! I mean really?
I agree that he should have just fessed up. Instead time and energy was wasted and focus shifted.
I think though that a girl or two will turn up who is under 18 or was at the time. Also that it was done on state time/money.
I think at this point, the focus on what he does has been turned and trust has been lost and he should step down so the state can focus back on important things.

If he wasn't married I wouldn't care what he did. Who hasn't sent their hubby/bf a "special photo" ? If society is going to go up in arms about a stupid photo then why are they ok with strip clubs being open? How about getting rid of porn and porn websites.
