Poll- Favorite things about summer
I know this is technically a little premature, although it's been in the mid-90s here in charlotte and I'm sure some of you TX, midwest and FL girls can relate, but what are some of your favorite things about summertime?
One of mine is when it stays light out so late. I don't know why but I just feel like the possibilities are endless! it gives me more energy and makes me happy when it's light out till almost 9pm. Hopefully, once I recover from my sinus infection and nagging knee injury i can get back to working out/running in the evenings.
Another thing is our annual trip to the Outer Banks. I've been almost every summer since I was 6 weeks old (except that pesky Bar Exam summer). It is my happy place and I have so many great memories of my childhood there.
What about you ladies?

Weather in MA the past week or so has been in the 70-80's with highs hitting the 90s the rest of this week!!!
I LOVE how it stays light out later also.
I like going to the beach. Not sure how that will play out this summer with a newborn, though. I actually want to go this weekend...
Love BBQs, taking walks/runs outside if it's not too hot, grabbing dinner or lunch outside, Sitting on my dads boat and going sailing (although it got f!^^#ing struck by lightening with the storms we had last week; not sure we'll be doing any sailing this summer OR even sitting on it due to the electrical damage).
Longer hours of daylight
BBQ's and family gatherings (I don't care what the occasion, I love them)
The beach and the boat. My parents live 3 miles from the water and I've been spoiled with boating my entire life.
I'm sure I'm going to love that it'll be Piper's birthday every summer from here on out!
Summertime food, it's so much better than the heavy winter time foods. I love salads and grilled meats, seafood...yum.
Deck bars...there is nothing better than drinking cocktails on a beautiful day on the deck of a bar overlooking the bay (or the highway for all I friggin care).

It's been cracking 100 degrees for about two weeks now around here. It got way too hot way too fast - hoping those temps would stay away until at least the end of June!

Softshell crabs
I just can't get up the nerve to eat these. I think it's the thought of eating the entire crab is what freaks me out.
I love taking walks later in the evening with hubby and Little D, eating crabs, the beach, wearing sandals, and staying lighter later.
Summer fruits! Berries, melon, stone fruits, all of them!
The annual raft up on the 4th of July. Every year it gets to be more fun.
Well, the summer is freaking hot. You really can't be outside during the day unless you're wet. I'm looking forward to Kenya's coastal climate of no super hot weather. We need to work out an agreement that our visits back here don't happen during the summer.
Anyway, favorite things: beach time and good movies.
