Rent-A-Grandma
Um what?
CN: A LA based company (expanding to Texas), was created to allow senior women to re-enter the work force on a PT or FT basis to watch children. They make $16-23/hour. It's a babysitting service, but with women in their 50s+. Thoughts?
I think that it's actually pretty cool!

I saw this. I told DH about it and his response was that my mom and step mom are always willing to watch her so why hire someone. Um they aren't always available! We needed someone this weekend since I have my HS reunion and my mom is going to be in Midland at her HS reunion and my step mom has a work thing so this would be perfect.
I think it's great for both parties. If the older woman doesn't live close to her family but still wants to be a "grandma" this works perfect for them and they ge to make a little money instead of spending it. Plus the kids like grandparents, they usually listen to them better and they can learn a lot from them. Win win in my book!
