Ummmm???

Okay, so I weighed myself last night, and I haven't lost any more weight. Still down 10 from when the year started. Rrrrg. So, I venture over to look at the "Health & Fitness" board to see if I can steal any tips from those ladies. Okay, not joking, many  of them are complaining about their "rolls" or "exess fat"...and they are literally like 5'2" 100 lb...one said she only looked good at 90lb! Are your f*ing kidding me? To me, that is not healthy at all!!! 90 lbs? Am I way off base here??? Another was 5'6" 110 lb and saying she needed to lose a bunch of "flab".

Re: Ummmm???

  • Yikes that is insane!! I don't understand anyone who could weigh less than 100lbs. Sounds like they have some issues I'm glad I don't have!!

  • Yikes!  That's a bit scary.  We have a client at work who weighs under a 100.  She is of asian descent so she is super tiny and the weight fits her.  But anybody who is 5'6 should not be under 100!

  • Some of the other Nest boards are funny, they represent total extremes. I lurk on a few of them. On Money Matters, they are putting like 25% of their income into savings and only spending 20% of their income on housing (um, yeah, in the NYC area I'd be living in a closet). The women on the book club board read 150 books a year. I've been afraid to look at H&F but I'm not suprised that some women there are like that. Flabby at 110 pounds? If I weighed 110 pounds I'd look like a skeleton. That is not attractive. It sounds like some of them have real body issues.

  • That does seem a bit unhealthy, but it's also quite possible that they are lying about their weight and they have no idea what 100 lbs would look like ;) Regardless, that doesn't sound like a good environment.  When I used to lurk on that board most of the posts were about exercise, healthy eating, and complaining that people put too much focus on BMI.  I thought it was a really healthy environment, maybe it's changed?

  • I lurk around many of the boards as my daily entertainment and it's nothing more than comedy to me. In addition to what Lori said, I love the advice that's always "You should end your marriage!" as a first solution to any problem, or even better "you knew this about him when you married him so I don't have any advice for you." I just hope the people getting this "advice" realize that the women giving it are probably the most unhappy of all.
  • I wouldn't exactly be titling that board Health & Fitness if their concern with their health is erring on the side of skin and bones. I don't think you're way off base here, Danie!
