Resume FAIL....[*** MY RULES FOR CONTACT***]

I was reviewing resumes on a job board and came across this GEM....this was a summary notes attached to a guys resume...no joke!

[*** MY RULES FOR CONTACT***] :

* 1) EMAIL EVERYTHING TO ME FIRST - I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT, I WANT TO READ IT
* 2) TALK IS CHEAP - I WANT EVERYTHING IN WRITING FOR LEGAL PURPOSES - IF YOU CAN'T WRITE IT DOWN, IT ISN'T WORTH HEARING
* 3) NOT INTERESTED IN TALKING TO ANYONE WHO DOESN'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT
* 4) DO NOT : ASK ME HOW I AM FEELING, OR HARASS ME, OR WASTE MY TIME
* 5) I HANG UP ON PEOPLE I CAN'T UNDERSTAND
* 6) ANALYZE MY RESUME TO ESTABLISH A MATCH TO THE JOB REQUIREMENT
* 7) NO SAME-DAY INTERVIEWS
* 8) NO INTERVIEWERS WITH HEAVY FOREIGN ACCENTS - I CAN'T UNDERSTAND THEM
* 9) DO NOT ASK ME FOR MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER OR BIRTHDATE
*** THERE'S A NEW STORY EVERYDAY OF RECRUITER ABUSES ***

Re: Resume FAIL....[*** MY RULES FOR CONTACT***]

  • OMG.  I would want to call him just to see if he's as ridiculous as his resume "notes".  Then I would ask if he wants to come in for an interview later that day.

  • He doesn't want a job; he wants to stay on unemployment.

     No joke with that statement - wow. That's special.

  • Can't blame you for not wanting to hire him! His posting screams TROUBLE for any future employer.
  • To a point, I can understand his frustration - seems every time I update my resume on monster or careerbuilder, I get a TON of emails and many phone calls from companies wanting me to sell insurance.  I still can't make the connection between my resume and these jobs.  But still...as tempting as it may be to create a set of rules such as his...that's also insurance one shall remain forever jobless.  Idiot.

    And ask him how he's doing. While using your heaviest foreign accent.

  • Hmmm, maybe he's on unemployment and complying with the job application requirement, but doesn't really want a job, so he's sending out this letter.

    This guy sounds like a real peach- I want to hire him right now, lol.

    Don't worry about tomorrow. After all, today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. Take each day as it comes...one at a time. Midnight Baking Adventures Blog
