(Since June 1 actually.)
I woke up May 31 with damp light red sheets. The on-call OB said to go to the hospital to see if my water broke. They tested for amniotic fluid and said it didn?t break or wasn?t leaking. Also an unpleasant internal exam gave me huge cramping and possibly started my contractions. They told me that and the leaking blood was normal. They made an appointment for June 2 for an ultrasound because my fluid level was borderline low.
When we got back home at around 10:30 am, contractions were every 10 minutes. They continued like that until 9pm. Never got really closer together, but more painful. After that many hours, I gave up and went back to the hospital even thought they weren?t 5 minutes apart. I was in so much pain that my legs were shaking and I figured I needed energy to push her out.
When we got to the hospital they were 5 minutes apart. And I got drugs, which was such a relief. The staff at the hospital were much better than earlier and throughout the stay. At 4:00 am I got a little pitocin which sent me to 10 cm at 5:00 am. The OB kept asking if I felt the need to push, but didn?t really. At 5:30 my epidural started to wear off and I started pushing instead of having more drugs.
Genevieve Arlene was born at 5:57 am weighing 7 lbs. 14 oz. and is 19 inches.
She had a lot of trouble breast feeding. We went home Friday, June 3 and I gave up and gave her a bottle. She was so hungry. So now we?re doing both, as recommended by her pediatrician. She went there Saturday because of her jaundice. Now that went away, because she?s eating and making dirty diapers. A lactation consultant is coming today to the house. Genevieve has started latching and sucking more.

Congrats, she is so cute!
Good luck with the BF'ing. G had a HORRIBLE latch at first (our LC said it was the worst she'd seen in 25 years!) and I was so tempted to throw in the towel but we kept working at it and we are still going strong 9 months later. I know it's so frustrating but you can do it! It's good that you are getting a LC, they know their stuff!
Congratulations!!
I am glad that she is here and doing well.

Congratulations...she's beautiful!
Definitely go with the LC...I wish I did! DD was a NICU baby and had the bottle from day 1, so I had a hard time getting her to latch on. Unfortunately, I gave up and have been pumping for almost 6 months...it's a lot of work! Stick with it...you'll both get the hang of it!
She's just precious
