update on dad from 6/6-long sorry

I want to thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers.  Things are looking up compared to over the weekend.  My parents met with my dad's doctor who did the initial test and he apologized profusely for the way my dad was given his results.  It looks like they found a very very small area that contained some cancerous cells that need to be looked further into.  It seems like it is nothing to panic over and we all feel better.

Tomorrow we are going to Dr. Sambandan, an amazing oncologist.  My mom is a breast cancer survivor and has seen Dr. Sam for years.  I am confident that he will lead my dad down the right path to being completely healthy!  Thanks again for thinking of us- if I may ask- please keep us in your thoughts tomorrow I am praying that Dr. Sam is positive as well!

Thanks again!

I'm sorry to hear that your dad is facing cancer, but am relieved that it's only a small area. Hopefully they caught it early enough that your dad will have a minimal treatment and recovery and will be cancer-free soon!

Continued thoughts and prayers going out to your dad and family.

So glad that the doctor apologized for the phone call.  My aunt saw Dr. Sam, and I know they really liked him.  And, my friend is a nurse at Kent County Hospital in oncology and she said he is the best.  Good luck tomorrow!
  • Hoping your dad gets some really good news tomorrow.  Also glad the same dr was able to put your mom on a healthy road.  Will be keeping your dad in my thoughts.
  • I work closely with Dr Sam ( I am an Oncology nurse at RIH) he is very positive and such a nice nice man.

Good luck...let me know if you have any questions.
