So I just moved into a fabulous new house with Granite Counters. I have NEVER had granite counters before. I read somewhere (and of course can't remember now) that you don't use normal cleaners on granite (like 409 or what have you) and that you can just use soap and water.
Does anyone use anything else on their granite counters? Soap and water seems to be working fine so far but its a pain to fill up the sink with soapy water (aka I'm impatient) so I would appreciate any suggestions from products to getting more patience (which I promise I'm working on!)

Re: Granite Counter quesiton
Make sure you seal the granite every 6 months (if not more often). We had granite and no one told us and we ruined it.
I think the "Green Works" brand is safe on granite. You can buy the wipes or the spray.

I use a granite cleaner found at Home Depot. Just ask an associate and they will point you in the right direction!

I usually wipe my granite down with either a lightly soaped rag (I do not fill the sink with water) or use Targets "Method" brand of general cleaner because it doesn't contain ammonia or anything acidic
I recently heard that we have to seal granite....We've been in our house almost 3 yrs....never sealed it. Is it easy to seal? I don't want to ruin our pretty counters.
I use Green Works on my granite (my unsealed granite!)
