What goes with olive (the color)

I have a new pair of olive pants and I'm at a loss at what tops to pair with them. White and black look blah, and some of the trendier colors look silly. (Persimmon orange plus olive = chic deer hunting). Suggestions?

Are they dress pants?

I'd probably go with a crisp white shirt, with interesting details (big collar, funky sleeves, something distinctive), and a chunky necklace.

Or, maybe look for a shirt with a pattern that has touches of olive in it?

I think a pale or golden yellow would go. I have a pair of olive shorts, and often wear a tee shirt that's the latter color with it.

I agree with a crisp white top. I think different shades of purple (e.g., lavender or deep royal purple) would also look good. Pink looks good too. Generally, I think most pastels would work.

can i piggyback -i'm curious to know about shoes with this color. i have a summery dress in this color that is linen type material and am at a total loss for what color shoes to wear with it.

If it's a casual dress, I would go with tan or white wedges, or even a funky color sandal like a salmon or turquoise. If it's dressier, maybe some nude peep toe heels?

I would probably pair it with an ivory or cream color top or something in the purples. I'm thinking like a wine or grape (that deep purple, almost indigo).

Olive is tough. I have an olive skirt that I love but feel limited. I typically wear either white or a have this small floral shirt I bought at H&M years ago and it has a little bit of olive in it and goes well. IMO that's your best bet, to find something with more pattern that has olive in it.

Black or beige look really nice with olive green. Spice up a matte black top with a shiny black patent belt.
