What a rough day! I have been having pain in my foot for about 2 weeks, initally thought I just strained it since the pain started to go away. Then I noticed the pain was getting worse and started throbbing, so I got into the doctor today and they x-rayed it = hairline fracture! Thankfully the doctor decided to do a walking boot instead of a cast.
I also had him check out some lymph nodes on the side of my neck that have been enlarged for several years. I got my tonsil removed in college. After having the tonsillectomy and them not going down I followed up with the ENT that did the surgery and he told me they wouldn't go down since my body had been constantly battling infection (I kept getting sore throats and tonsilitis, time after time) that they wouldn't go back down to normal size. Once they removed my tonsils I've only been sick a handful or so of times.
My prior PCPs and the ENT in OR told me that unless that I noticed they were growing there was no concern, so since I recently established care at a doctor in ID I thought I'd have him check them out, since I keep an eye on it regularly and also like my doctor to as well. He ordered an ultrasound which is scheduled for Friday. I don't know if I'll get the results the same day or have to wait until Monday.
If you have any extra T&P or good thoughts, you can send my way I would greatly appreciate it. I pray its just nothing and know it's best to follow the doctor's recommendation to check them out further.
Re: T&P Please
How do you like the walking boot?? I had one on for a long time with my tendinitis. Its amazing how that thing make the pain go away but I felt like I was walking in a moon boot LOL!
I hope your U/S comes back benign. GL!!
Keep us updated. Prayers.
Thank you ladies!
I actually was able to reschedule for tomorrow instead of Friday. My 1st appt was for 3:45pm and I knew I probably wouldn't hear anything until Monday so I'm going tomorrow at 11am, so I'm hoping to hear something before the weekend.
BMW - the walking boot isn't too bad, the guy that gave it to me said good luck driving...its my right foot, yeah I didn't end up driving with it because I could just see my foot getting stuck by the gas when I needed to press the brake! Thankfully I don't drive too far so it's ok. I'm still having pain so I hope this walking boot will help soon!
Oh its your driving foot!! Bummer. Yeah mine was on my left. B's was on the right and he drove with it on!! I hated that he did that.
I hope your ultrasound comes out ok!
As for the foot, I hope it stops hurting soon. I've brken my left one a few times, but never had any sort of cast. I hope it heals well.
