Vacations? Day Trips? Fun Things?
Please tell me a ton of you are on vacation and that's why it's been so dead. If not, indulge me:
1. Are you going on vacation this summer? If so, where and for how long?

1. Are you going on vacation this summer? If so, where and for how long?
Rehoboth Beach for a week.
2. Have you ever been to this destination before?
Yes, I grew up going to Bethany Beach and we'd always spend a day in Rehoboth. Also did a week in Rehoboth last year.
3. If not a lengthy vacation, do you have any day trips planned and to where?
We're going to Newport, RI for our anniversary in September for a long weekend.
4. Does your family hold family reunions? Do you attend?
Yes. The Dude's family does as well. We go whenever we can and don't have other plans.
5. Any other fun events on the horizon?
I have the shower/bach party for the wedding I'm in, in two weeks. We might go away over night in July if my sister can watch Binzo.
6. Do you tend to host or get invited to BBQs? What's your signature dish for said BBQs, if any?
We just hosted this past weekend. Cupcakes are my signature.
My little nuggets
1. Are you going on vacation this summer? If so, where and for how long? We went to Spain for 10 days in May. We spent 4 nights in Madrid, 1 night in Burgos, 3 nights in Avila and our last night near the Madrid Airport.
2. Have you ever been to this destination before? This was my fourth trip to Spain (my second time in Avila) but my first time in Madrid. We've also been to Bilbao/Rioja and Benidorm near Alicante. DH taught English in Avila after university and has maintained friendships there.
3. If not a lengthy vacation, do you have any day trips planned and to where? We are looking at seeing Russel Brand at the Borgata so that might turn into an overnight with a beach day. Might do a long weekend in Spring Green, Wisconsin, to visit friends. Will try to bum a boat weekend in Maryland from our friends.
4. Does your family hold family reunions? Do you attend? Sort of - My dad's cousins' kids (5 kids) are big into a rental in Avalon every five years and have invited other cousin branches to also rent during that same week. They make t-shirts. They're going annually now I think b/c their parents aren't doing so hot lately healthwise. I attended once and will never again for more than an overnight. My dad's sisters are psychotic when they're all together and even though DH and I are turning 40 and 50 we still get treated like "the kids" and can't even expect a bedroom/bathroom, even if we contribute = money.
5. Any other fun events on the horizon? I like 4th of July since we have the roof deck near the Art Museum. We will party with the neighbors.
6. Do you tend to host or get invited to BBQs? What's your signature dish for said BBQs, if any? Neither - we've had some impromtus with the guys next door on the sidewalk. I guess we go to others' more because we're without kids and our house is not kid-friendly so it's easier to go to the person with kid's house. I like to make sticky, sweet-spicy chicken wings and my Nana's potato salad.

1. Are you going on vacation this summer? If so, where and for how long? We are not going anywhere. Before I got KU, we had talked about trying to squeeze in a cruise but the best laid plans...

3. If not a lengthy vacation, do you have any day trips planned and to where? We don't have anything planned, but I'm sure things will pop up. We were going to do the shore, but I'm kind of over it with the crowds. I'd rather hang out at my sister's in her pool.
4. Does your family hold family reunions? Do you attend? My mom's side does up state and it's HUGE but I haven't gone since I was about 14. DH's mom's side has recently started doing them and we usually go. Past locations were Knoebel's and Wildwood in the fall. This year it's in Hershey about a month before I'm due so we're opting out, which kills me because I LOVE Hershey Park!
5. Any other fun events on the horizon? Umm my baby shower? This summer for us is really about saving dough and prepping for the bambino.
6. Do you tend to host or get invited to BBQs? What's your signature dish for said BBQs, if any? We live on the 2nd floor of a duplex so we're almost exclusively invited over hosting. Depending upon the set of friends, I will either make pasta salad or a dessert or dip of some sort. Pretzel dip, buffalo chicken dip and cream cheese/salsa dip tend to be my go to's.

3. If not a lengthy vacation, do you have any day trips planned and to where? Nothing planned. We will wing it based on our life after a baby.
4. Does your family hold family reunions? Do you attend? Yes, but it costs too much to get there every year - we went last year because it was my gma's 80th bday and my niece was born a month prior and I hadn't seen her yet.
5. Any other fun events on the horizon? I'll have an outside kid in a couple weeks, although I'm not sure how fun this will be. I'm freaking out.
6. Do you tend to host or get invited to BBQs? What's your signature dish for said BBQs, if any? We are always invited, hosting makes me anxious, however I'm guessing with a baby I'll host a lot more this summer. My signature dish is usually a dessert.

1. Are you going on vacation this summer? If so, where and for how long? I have 3 weeks off this summer - 2 in July and 1 in August. DH has no vacation left due to all of the weddings this year, so looks like it will be a staycation by myself (which doesn't sound all that bad!) I'm still hoping to go somewhere for the 4th, possibly Cape May with some friends, and probably to my parents for a few days in July & August because they have a pool.

3. If not a lengthy vacation, do you have any day trips planned and to where? Possibly a day trip for my birthday... maybe NYC or the beach.
4. Does your family hold family reunions? Do you attend? My Mom's extended family does. I do not go. I don't really know any of those peeps.
5. Any other fun events on the horizon? November is our big trip to Turks for my BFF's wedding. We also have an Annapolis wedding back to back with Turks. Which means, this summer I have 2 showers and in the fall, 2 bachelorettes. Turks in only 5 months... I'm counting the days. If I'm not KU by Jan of 2012, we're also trying to plan a trip to visit my sister in Singapore since she just moved there for work.

4. Does your family hold family reunions? Do you attend? The men in FI's family does a golf weekend every year. Obviously, I do not go.
5. Any other fun events on the horizon? A shower and batchelorette party sometime, and I've got something on 11/19.
6. Do you tend to host or get invited to BBQs? What's your signature dish for said BBQs, if any? We can't have a grill, so we get invited. My signature dishes involve things that don't need to be cooked (hummus and pita, cheese and crakers) and buffalo chicken dip.
1. Are you going on vacation this summer? If so, where and for how long? Yes!! We will be taking our first family vacation this year. It's a 7 Day cruise leaving from Puerto Rico and going to 5 different islands.

5. Any other fun events on the horizon? SIL is getting married while on the cruise trip in Barbados. She is also having a reception back home.
6. Do you tend to host or get invited to BBQs? What's your signature dish for said BBQs, if any? Tons of BBQs, graduation parties, etc. this year. My go to dish is usually Taco Salad or Taco Dip.

3. If not a lengthy vacation, do you have any day trips planned and to where? We're heading up to Massachusetts next weekend for a wedding. Otherwise, I'll probably just take a day off here and there to go to the beach or my parents' pool.

5. Any other fun events on the horizon? My sister's wedding in July. DH's 30th bday in August.
6. Do you tend to host or get invited to BBQs? What's your signature dish for said BBQs, if any? We are invited to BBQs here and there, usually Memorial/Labor Day weekends. I usually end up bringing taco dip, on request.
1. Are you going on vacation this summer? If so, where and for how long? We are taking a 2 week vacation to Alaska in September. Week 1 will be a cruise from Vancouver to Anchorage and the second week we will be driving around Alaska on our own.

3. If not a lengthy vacation, do you have any day trips planned and to where? I think for the 4th we are headed to SIL in CT. Other than a few trips home to Upstate NY to see my family, that is it.

1. Are you going on vacation this summer? If so, where and for how long? Since we went to England in April (and we're closing on a new house in 2 weeks) we aren't taking a big trip this summer. We may take a long weekend and visit friends in Boston.

3. If not a lengthy vacation, do you have any day trips planned and to where? In addition to Boston, we'll spend time exploring the lovely Ardmore.
4. Does your family hold family reunions? Do you attend? Not officially, but when we go to the UK to see DH's family, everyone gets together for a day or we'll take a trip together.
5. Any other fun events on the horizon? Moving to Ardmore in 2 weeks, BFF's wedding in Jamaica in March
6. Do you tend to host or get invited to BBQs? What's your signature dish for said BBQs, if any? We tend to get invited, but we hope to host some now that we'll have a backyard. My signature dish is a strawberry salad with poppysead dressing.
1. Are you going on vacation this summer? If so, where and for how long? I am going to Vegas on a girls trip in August. The fam and I might do OBX again in September but we're not sure yet. I will also do some overnights at the shore with the kids

3. If not a lengthy vacation, do you have any day trips planned and to where? Definitely the shore. We are also going to Dutch Wonderland and Strasburg Railroad next week. We are going to stay overnight and also hit up the Amish for some furniture needs

Not really - I mean we get invited to parties but most of my friends don't have BBQ's just to have one, there's usually a reason - birthday, graduation etc. I have a great red skin potato salad recipe. If I am in a hurry I usually just pick up soft pretzel nuggets

3. If not a lengthy vacation, do you have any day trips planned and to where? Probably a few Saturdays will be spent enjoying different beer destinations coupled with running.
4. Does your family hold family reunions? Do you attend? Funerals and weddings count?
5. Any other fun events on the horizon? I have a race at Stoudt's Brewery in August that is "road runners vs. trail runners" with an alternate beverage station before the end of the race. Road vs. trail runners will compete both in running and consumption of alternate beverages. I'm also running the Half-Wit Half Marathon on Mt. Penn in August.
6. Do you tend to host or get invited to BBQs? What's your signature dish for said BBQs, if any? I haven't had an official "party" at my house in a few years. Most of the stuff I host is impromptu and my signature bbq dishes are usually "fly by the seat of my pants" recipes/creations.

Had a 5 day trip to Siesta Key, Fl a few weeks ago. We're going to Rehoboth Beach, De for a week later this summer.

The zoo, some day trips to the beach, and an overnight to Knoebels.

They used to, not the last few years though. We always attended.

1. Are you going on vacation this summer? If so, where and for how long?- We just returned from an 8 day trip from Turks and Caicos. We have a weekend trip to DC and several weekends and two weeks down the shore to our shore home.
2. Have you ever been to this destination before?- Yes, we have been to Turks in 2009, never been to DC and yes, to the shore.
3. If not a lengthy vacation, do you have any day trips planned and to where?- Just the shore.
4. Does your family hold family reunions? Do you attend?-No, but wish they did.
5. Any other fun events on the horizon?- Nothing too exciting. We are planning Ava's first birthday and am going down the shore next weekend and for 5 days over her actual birthday.
6. Do you tend to host or get invited to BBQs? What's your signature dish for said BBQs, if any?- Our house is too small to host BBQ's but honestly, we don't get invited to too many. Most of my family goes down the shore all summer so we hang out a lot down there.
