Salary Question

I am phone interviewing for a corporate recruiting job tomorrow. I currently work for a non-profit doing a decent amount of college recruiting. There is no salary range listed on the position description and while I don't anticipate salary being brought up over the phone interview, I would like to know what is appropriate to ask for.

This is a management position with a fortune 500 company, requires 3 or more years of recruiting experience and requires national travel 60% of the time.

Any idea what range I should aim for?

Re: Salary Question

  • Where are you located?  Where I live, I would think $65k, with per diem (or expenses paid) while traveling.
IUI - BFP! Baby boy born still - August 2012
    IVF - BFP - miscarriage June 2013
    FET - BFN
    FET - BFN
    Switched clinics
IVF with PGD - three embryos created, all healthy - July 2014
FET - transferred two embryos (boy and girl) - Nov 2014 - BFP!
    Baby Boy born July 2015

  • I'd research salaries for that position in your area and have that # in mind for a ballpark.

  • I am in Pittsburgh... I've tried to research with no luck on actual jobs in this area.

I was thinking $60k, so that figure is helpful! If any others who are in this type of position could chime in, that would be great!

    Thank you!

  • Make sure you tell them you are flexible and any number you mention is negotiable.

Check the US Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics and Indeed.com salary wizard to get some ball park totals.

  • DOL has a Bureau of Labor Statistics that charts salaries by State and by job type that provides range of salaries for each job type.  If your position fits one of their job types, they will have the info you seek.
