What is wrong with people???

My friend is a meter reader and he saw this in someone's FENCED backyard in Saginaw.  5 dogs in one cage!!!!!!  I know there is animal abuse everywhere and worse than this but, seriously, you a have fenced yard!  This just breaks my heart! This has been reported to the city and they claim they are going to look into but my friend says that they rarely do.  Sorry I just had to vent.

Re: What is wrong with people???

  • :(. That breaks my heart too. Why even have dogs.

But then again, I also don't get people who have "outside dogs" either. What's the point? I feel bad for them. :(. They want to be inside and be part of the family with you!

  • Wow, that makes me SO sad.  Its one thing to kennel your dogs but those dogs cant even move and water about water, its so hot outside.
  • OMG they don't even have room to lay down without getting smushed.
  • OMG! This breaks my heart! And its been SO hot. No water, nothing. Poor puppies. Lets go steal them!

  • I would totally let them out, and leave a note.
  • I know, it's just so sad!  The look on that poor lil Yorkie's face says "help us."
  • We should go steal them!!  How horrible.  And that poor little puppy underneath that bigger dog.  What will happen to it when he decides to sit.  Super sad.  Sad
  • We should go steal them!

I know the rescue that I volunteer for actually does things about this. Can you send me the info on where this is & maybe Paws in the City can do something about it?

  • That's just awful. I don't understand why some people have pets.
  • That is so sad!  Those are some big dogs.  I wonder how hard they had to work to get them all in there.  I know when we first adopted Aggie he didn't want to go in his kennel.  We gave up.

Oh and Summer we have "outdoor" dogs during the day because if we leave them inside they get mad and eat the baseboards and pillows.  When it gets really hot, really cold or is raining we leave the doggie door open and they can come and go.  Aggie will actually continue to sun bath even after we are home and the doggie door is open.  They like to be outside to chase the squirrels, birds and airplanes. We have Collies and they get bored very easy.

  • Also tell your friend to call this number 817-332-4768, ext. 113.  It's the Humane Society of North Texas.  They will go out and look even if the city won't.  We have called them on neighbors in the past.

  • Poor dogs!! If they can't take care of the dogs or treat them right why should they have so many?
  • That pictures makes me so sad for the dogs and mad at the owners!
  • This is heartbreaking!!! :(  I really hope some of the numbers/resources the other ladies have offered up will be useful and that another organization will go look into this even if the city won't. There's no way they have enough (if anything) to drink all smashed in there, nor can they have anywhere clean to even stand since surely they all have to go to the bathroom during the day.  Wow.  I don't understand why people do this or HOW they can do this without feeling obscenely guilty.

    THIS!!

I don't see the point in having a dog or an outside dog...would YOU want to stand outside with a fur coat on all day in this heat!! Hell No!! So why would you do that to your animal!!! Angry
