slow day?

Is it just the Nest acting up for me, or has no one really posted anything since last night? Time to liven things up around here- so tell me how your day was!

Today I had day 1 (of 2) of a leadership training class for work. It was a nice change to get out of the office where I stare at a computer screen all day. Today's session focused on communication skills, so we did a lot of one-on-one or small group exercises. I usually hate those, but I worked with good people today. Plus I claimed the role of "Carlos" in one exercise and made my (male) boss play the part of "Judy." Devil

    Good for you!

My day was great! I'm off for the summer, so my days have been filled with taking care of appointments and errands I put off during the school year. Got the cars worked on this morning, went up to my school to do some administrative stuff, and then babysat this afternoon. I'm loving my babysitting job. Although, it's making me feel like a teenager again, instead of a 26 year old teacher!

  • I found out today that our agency is moving offices. At first it was exciting, but then I found out that we're most likely moving downtown. :( Not what I wanted to hear. The building we're looking at is very nice, and we'd be on the 20th floor, which is fun, but I'm not looking forward to the traffic, parking and construction. Blah.

Hopefully we'll use this as an opportunity to redecorate, get new furniture, etc. I'm sure the space will turn out great, I just dislike the location.

  • Today was an enrollment day - those days are usually busy, and I always wind up completely brain dead. The only excitement I had today was finishing off a pan of brownies I made a couple of days ago. :P

I did go to Old Navy hoping to use the Groupon I bought, but the ON up here had nothing. I want some cute summer dresses, shorts and a new bathing suit - but none were in my size. Of course. Dang.

  • Today I went to Motherhood Maternity and Target to do some shopping for LO and I. Picked up some lunch, then took a nap. Laundry and making dinner completed my "busy" day Smile.
  • I took B to a summer movie at the Warren theater at 10am to see How to Train Your Dragon. It was cute. :). Then we came home, I payed bills while he monster trucked the living room, and we took a two hour nap together. We went to swimming lessons after that, then we went and ate sushi with H. We went to Lids and got B the cutest OU hat with his name embroidered on the side. Tomorrow is "wear your baseball cap" day at school.

  • My day was boring--took a lamp in for repair (surprisingly, not all lighting stores repair halogen lamps...learned that one the hard way), and went by the school to look through receipt books and order forms to show a parent that no, she did not order a yearbook.

I then spent the rest of the afternoon doing some curriculum work, napping, playing video games, and lounging. Too hot for much else.

Last night, H and I had tickets to see 9 to 5 at the Civic Center. It was hilarious. I love the movie, so I knew I'd love the musical.

  • My day wasn't too exciting. Work went by pretty quickly. Around 4 I started feeling bad. I ran the night before and I think I pushed myself too hard. I'm hypoglycemic and over-exercising will cause my blood sugar to drop. So I got really shakey, had cold sweats, my heartrate went up, etc. I got home and DH had dinner started and my PJs out for me :) I was supposed to run again last night with BFF, but decided to take a rest night.

  • Tuesday was a productive day for me.  I did some laundry, cleaned up the house a bit and ran some errands - went to TJ Maxx, Target, the dry cleaner, and of course, Lowe's.  I sunned myself outside for awhile which was not that relaxing given that Dasher will not stop biting me, scratching me, jumping on top of me. Geez. I am glad she is such a happy dog but my Lord, I look abused and my feet REALLY hurt from her biting me all the time.  We have a guy coming today to give us a quote for a dog run so I can lay outside in peace.  I made dinner AND lunch for DH.  He gave me an A for Tuesday!
  • Yesterday I worked my FT job and then went and worked my 2 evening a week job. Got home and did dishes and a load of laundry. Not sure how long I can keep up with 2 jobs but I get to choose when i work (right now its only Monday and Tuesday from 5:30 pm-about 9:30 pm) it does make for long days but the extra money is good. I am rewarding my self with a new bike today since 2nd job pays cash.
