Go to your vet and get
Comfortis. It starts to kill fleas in 30 minutes and last 30 days. Some vets only sell a 6 or so month supply. My vet will sell you just one. Its about $20 for a one month supply, but it worked like a charm with fleas at our house a couple weeks ago.
Re: Renee -- your flea issue
Animal Care Clinic, in Corsicana, an hour south of Dallas, down 45. They are on Business 45.

Well, that's a bit too far for us. However, I called ours and they do carry it. They don't have the one that Angela suggested - it was heart worm and flea medicine in one.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Renee, I get the Revolution from 1800petmeds.com, it's way cheaper! Maybe you could look into that for the future? You just have to have a prescription from your vet, and they'll call your vet to get it for you. But you need a prescription for any heartworm preventative because they want to make sure that your doggie doesn't have heartworms to start with. Flea medicine you don't, you can get those from pet stores.
And for Comfortis, most vets should sell you just one.
