I can't stand being tagged in photos. It bothers me enough that there are pictures of me on the internet that I have no control over, but then you click my name and you see these pics? and yes, I am aware that I can un-tag myself
it really irritates me. I think I have a bug up my a$$ today.

Re: FB pet peeve
So, it's not so much the tag, but the fact that a pic of you was posted in the first place?
I would just avoid letting others take pics of you. It sounds crazy, but really that is the only way to make sure nothing is out there. At least avoid being photographed by FB friends that are known to post pics

Yep - it's the fact that the pic was posted. So even if I'm not tagged, if you look at pictures from Mary Sue's New Year's party, there I am!
I have this friend that I love dearly but she has a ton of FB albums and it's not uncommon for her to have a hundred or so in each one. That's her decision and it's her account, but the internet is forreeevvvveeerrrrrrr. I have asked her to take down drinking pictures with me in them before, and I got some attitude.
Why drinking pictures? I get that some people don't want any pics at all up, but what is the difference if you have a beer in your hand?
I am kind of fascinated by this, as I have tons of drinking pictures of myself in my FB albums

It's really most pictures, not just drinking pictures, but most of my coworkers are also on FB and it's a small world.. some of them know people that I know, where I might be in some of their photos. I don't really want coworkers to see pictures of me all lit up. But I don't want to not have a good time because someone somewhere might see a picture of me doing something perfectly legal and acceptable, though not "professional."
Also, pictures where I look fat are also a problem. Hahahahaha. I see a pic where my arms look fat and I'm like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Oh I hear you on the fat/ugly pics. Sadly, motherhood has done a number on me. After Charlie, I could still take some decent pics but ever since Sam - it's just a sad state of affairs. I have had the same profile pic for years because I can't find a decent one

I'm not listening! LALALALA!
My one friend loves to tell me that I will never have abs again after giving birth... I think she gets satisfaction out of telling me negatives to motherhood.
Not true, Eagles! You look great in the recent pics from OBX!!
that being said I have it so people can't stream through tagged pics of me. I also don't add coworkers to fb usually I have some from my garden days but I have known them for over six years and they are more like family/friends.
Jamie and lachute, that is really nice of you girls to say (and even better to hear lol).
I am not happy with myself right now, but I am doing something about it and working on it!

Me too. I have a total of 3 fb friends from work: one no longer works at our company, and the other two are very good friends of mine (we joke that we are "coworkers who hug").
I recently had a very 12 year old situation, personally, in which a friend tagged an extremely unflattering picture of me and I actually cried and asked her to take it down. She was cool about it, even though I was acting like a middle school twaat.
I can't really explain why it even upset me so much, but it did.
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
Oh I hear you on that.
There is a picture posted of me from last weekend and I am visibly pregnant yet I am all OMG I look like a whaaaaalle.
I had a freak out like this about a year ago. My friend looked at me like I was crazy but she took it down for me after I begged. I specifically won't post unflattering photos of people for this reason!
Why don't you just ask your friends/family not to tag you? I have a couple friends who have asked people not to.
