1st birthday party help!

Hey ladies!  Well it's hard for me to believe that my little girl will be 1 in a few short months! :(  So I am starting to think about her party.  I wanted your help/advice/ideas on themes, where to find/make cute invites/etc.  Any input would be great! Thanks!

  • Time sure flies doesn't it?! As far as theme I think it is fun to do something to match your little one's personality. For Ella's first birthday theme we did elephants because I always call her Elephant Grace :) I have been to cute butterfly and ladybug themed little girl first birthday parties or winter ONEderland parties but that is wrong time of year for you! We made cute invites on zazzle.com and they were reasonably priced. Good luck!

  • We did a Cupcake Theme for DD's 1st Birthday Party.  We did it in the late afternoon (after naps) so I served only desserts (mini cheesecakes, strawberry swirl bread, brownies, 3 different types of cookies, chocolate covered strawberries) and instead of cake I did a "decorate you own cupcake" bar and let guests put whatever they wanted on their cupcake.  We used the Wilton Cupcake Mold to make a Giant Cupcake and used a part of that as her smash cake.  I decorated with polka-dots and stripes (Tablecloths, napkins, baloons...etc).  Good Luck!!

No kidding!  In fact "Time Flies" was the theme of LJ's party (you can see pics in my blog... most recent two entries).  That may be a little too boy-ish for your tastes though ;)

Like PP mentioned, I've seen some cute plays on ONEderland (ocean, winter, etc). You could even stretch it to an Alice in ONEderland idea!  How cute would that be?!
