  I used that for over a year and never had those problems. But the NuvaRing is low in estrogen and heavy in progesterone. So if you have been using a birth control that is estrogen heavy (which is most of them), I would imagine it would be normal to see some differences. Also, as much as I would love to blame birth control for this, it does not make you gain large amounts of weight. The average is 3-5 pds. It is possible that the hormones can make you "feel" more hungry, but unfortunately it is our own doing in the weight gain. Or, at least this is what my ob/gyn said.

  The low sex drive and vaginal dryness can be attributed to the birth control. Weight isn't too much a problem for birth control except for a few pounds as the PP said. The birth control that makes you gain weight is Lupron Depo and depo provera. If you are uncomfortable with these side effects, talk to your pharmacist and gyno about other options.

  I have only been using the NuvaRing for about 3 months, and by the end of my first month I definitely noticed a drop in my sex drive. But none of the other symptoms.

  Yes.  I quit it after 3 months b/c my sex drive was gone and I was completely dry (not normal for me).

  I've only been on it for a month now, after being on Yasmin for 3 years. So far, I have noticed a slightly lower sex drive, and the occasional pimple, but I'm not attributing that to NuvaRing just yet (this past month has been beyond stressful). If the side effects don't go away and I find they're really bothering me, I'll go back on Yasmin. I had no real reason to go off it, other than being sick of the daily pill routine. 

  Life is good today.

  I hated NuvaRing.  It completely killed my sex drive.   Completely.   After 6 months, I went off it.  Now I like sex again.
