What's new girls?
This board is a little dead lately, so let's live'n her up a little! 
Anything exciting and new going on?
Nothing really happening over here...except I officially go back to work at the end of next month. I only work part time, so I can't complain, but it's mon-fri, 4 hours a day + commuting time, so I will miss DD. =( I hate to give it up while we are still living on SI...it's pretty decent money for a part time gig, but I'll still miss her. Other than that, nothing really happening. Looking forward to some hot weather again now that my 'rents pool is open...can't wait to take Sammi for her first swim!

Re: What's new girls?
Not much. Just wrapping up classes. I have two guest speakers in one of my classes today. I hope it goes well. The other class I am doing one of my last lessons of the year. The rest is just studying for their exam.
June is quite busy for social stuff. Next weekend, I travel for a baby shower to CT then MA. The weekend after is a wedding in NJ. We'll stay overnight the night before on the family's request. Then a retirement party, some end-of-the-year kind of things.
Oh, and I didn't get the fellowship I applied for. It sucks. I really thought I was going to get it. My colleagues have been really sweet about it, though, saying that I was totally qualified and it was just politics. My guy BFF offered to burn down their offices; other friends have been similarly supportive. And for the first time in modern history I heard my dad say that he was proud of me. So, I am not totally at a loss.
Nothing too new here. I'm still interning at American Ballet Theatre and looking for part time work. And i have an interview for a hostess position at a trendy Greek restaurant in Tribeca this afternoon! A theatre friend works there but she's moving back to Cali in a few weeks so they need to replace her and she recommended me!! It'd be nice to have a few extra bucks...
DH and i are going to a wedding in PA in 2 weeks and seeing friends on the way there and on the way back. I'm really excited!!
Oh, and i'm going to a jewelry store today after my interview to sell/get rid of some gold and silver jewelry i don't want anymore/that are broken...and i'm a little nervous... I tried to go to a place in NH but they were closed for the holiday weekend while we were there. I just can't stop thinking that i'm going to get scammed here in NYC or work with rude people...but i think i found a decent place after i Googled...

Finally! A Married Bio!!
Things are cool on my side. I am heading to Canada on Thursday for the weekend for my adopted little sister's graduation. She is getting her MA in Psychology. I am so proud of her and so excited to have a lil girl's weekend out! DH will hold down the fort and will probably sleep for the entire weekend. LOL

Amy, I am so sorry to hear about the fellowship. Will you reapply next year?
Life has been pretty crazy. Work is nuts and it looks like we are pulling out of our contract on our new house. Long story short- we have been in contract for 9 months and there has been little progress. The builder?s agent and attorney are being really shady. Unless, there is some major change within the next few days, we?re out for good. It is really depressing to invest so much time and emotional energy into a project and then have it fall flat. Also, now we are franticly looking for a new place, because we have been staying with my mom for way too long. Ugh. I am hopeful that we?ll find something better soon. DH and my Mom are so over each other and it is no fun being in the middle.
On a nicer note, I just found out that I am receiving an award from a national organization that I belong to. I?ll be officially accepting the award at the national conference in Chicago this summer. I am very honored and excited.
I'm sorry about the house again. =( Everything in life happens for a reason...this just wasn't meant to be. You will get something sooo much better!
