WWYD- updated

My girl is still really sick.  She threw up everything she drank yesterday and has not eaten a thing since Monday.  She just lays around.  I have called the pedi several times and given them updates on her and they keep telling me to wait it out.  I figured she would be better this morning but she woke up crying and just laid on the couch and now she is back in bed sleeping.  This is very very unlike her.  She still wont eat.  Shoudl I just wait it out more or would you bring her in?  I am calling them this morning to update them and I think I might tell them I am bringing her in.  ugh.  she has never been like this. :(

Re: WWYD- updated

  • Go with your gut!I'd bring her in. I brought Caroline in on Monday, knowing they probably wouldn't find anything, but just to make sure. She had been lethargic, walking into things and stumbling and had a rash. Afterwards, I was relieved at no longer "not knowing!"

Hope poor Grace feels better soon. Poor kiddo :(

  • I agree!! Can't hurt anything to bring her in and it will give you peace of mind. Hope she feels better soon!

  • Poor Grace.  In your situation, I would bring her in.  The co-pay for the visit would be worth the peace of mind.

  • I agree. Mommy intuition always wins.

Does she still have a low grade fever?

  • I'd bring her in and I'm not someone who takes DD to the doctor for much.

(Incidentally, I brought Helen to the doctor on Tuesday after she'd had a fever for 3 days and I saw her throat was all inflamed and covered with white spots. The quick strep test was negative...and Helen felt much better the next day.)

  • This sound exactly like Ridley.  I would take her to the ER actually.  It sounds like she might be dehydrated and her blood sugar levels have to be really low if she hasn't eaten since Monday.  I would not be surprised if they admitted her to the hospital.

  • they told me to try and hydrate her that she is dehydrated but not dangerously.  She threw up again as soon as we got home.  I am still thinking I might take her to the ER, she is just so lethargic and will not eat.  She is drinking a little more though and has kept it down since about 12.

  • Poor thing! Again, go with your gut! Like KClouts said, you don't want the dehydration to get ahead of you. I hope she feels better soon. You must have your hands full! Keep us updated!
