Gift ideas for father's day?

DH sent me flowers on Mother's day which I greatly appreciated.  I want to get him something small for Father's Day.  Even though the baby is still in my tummy he has been so awesome to me, and I want to do something.  Does anyone have any good ideas?

Re: Gift ideas for father's day?

  • Are there any little treats he likes?  Cookies, drinks, etc?  My DH was thrilled when I picked him up some Jamba Juice as part of his birthday surprise Smile

    Does he like video games?

A small tool he might be wanting?

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Yeah.....my go to small gift is Godiva chocolates.  He loves those so I may end up going with that.  I just feel like I get the same stuff all the time.  He doesn't play video games, and there IS a tool he wants....but it is a few hundred dollars so I was planning on getting that for him for his birthday!!!
  • What if you added an "I love Daddy" bib or something? (Assuming you're going ahead and buying things in advance, obviously.)

Movie passes? There's a ton of comic book/dude movies* coming out this summer - maybe the pass and a promise to go see one of those? Does he like beer or wine? Maybe a nice bottle of wine, or a craft beer? (My husband is big on both, so it makes things easy for me, heh.)

*i.e. movies my husband likes that I have no desire to see, but will suffer through. And I know that isn't necessarily the case for all women- it's just easier for me to shorthand them.  :)

Does he get you flowers often?  Think of it like that.  Yes, it might be the same gift, but he will still enjoy them.  Write a nice note in his card and that can be the different/special part to it.

You are so right!  Ha ha ha.  I never thought of it like that.

This is what I did last father's day (before DS was born, obviously!)

This year, still haven't gotten anything and I'm at a total loss for what to get. Woops. I did get him a hardcover book of ee cummings "if" formatted as "a father's advice to his son."
