Rant: I'm off with some wicked abdominal pain today. I overworked my abs doing some Pilates moves from Women's Health magazine (that's #1), ate something at the good-bye party last night that's causing all sorts of intestinal cramps (#2) and my period just started IN SPITE of the fact that it shouldn't have this week (#3). Like seriously? All three at once? If I think about it, I can actually feel the pain at each of the three different depths. Ridiculous.
Rave: Oh man, I got caught walking home from the subway in the most ridiculous lightning storm. Aside from being concerned that I was going to be struck dead by lightning, watching the storm swirl overhead was strangely beautiful. I do love a good storm - especially when they start to clear the humidity out of the air.
Re: Thursday Rants/Raves Anyone?
Rant: Allergy season is kicking my @ss this year. I have to stock my tissues up from Costco about every 10 days.
Rave: I made another payment towards my Disney vacation this morning :-D only about 3 payments left. Yay!
Rant: I can't make my hair as awesome as it looks when I leave the salon, and I really like to look good when I'm having a crappy day.
Rave: I made a simple but delish dinner last night with spaghetti and tofu.
Rant - I wish my bosses would get their shitt together. Yes, a lot of nothing is getting done when you pull me off one project to start another, to do another. Oh and perhaps someone could remind them that I have other responsibilities in the office.
Rave - Painter starts painting the interior of the house on Tuesday!
Rant: My summer student (the one who travelled to Newfoundland with me). He asked me last week whether he could have half a day off last Friday and a full day off this coming Friday for "previously scheduled trips". I have to wonder how interested in working this summer he really was if he planned all this stuff. Now he also wants next Thursday off because his band has a gig. WTF.
Rave: There's a huge empty retail lot across the street from my house that's under development, and it was announced yesterday that they will be building the Target flagship store there! OMG SO EXCITED.
Baby #2: Surprise BFP 9.19.12, EDD 5.24.13, natural m/c 10.19.13 at 9w
Rant: I have to go clothes shopping today. I go back to work on Sunday and nothing fits. I wanted to wait until I had lost more weight but that isn't going to happen. I don't want my pants falling off of me or look like I tried to squeeze into some that are too small.
Rave: I got 6 glorious hours of uninterrupted sleep last night. H took care of all the feedings since he has the day off and let me relax.
Rant: Klutzy me just dropped my beloved water bottle (er, hydration vessel) and it broke. It's no longer water tight and that just gives me the sads. I love this bottle so much.
Rave: I cashed in my Beauty Insider points at Sephora last week for the 500 point perk of a mini set of the Ole Henriksen Three Little Wonders and oh.em.gee this stuff is amazing. I've only been using it for a week (and not always perfectly) and my skin is about a billion times better.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Rant: The cute shoes I wore to last nights event were awesome. Except for wearing 4" heels for 6 hours straight. My toes must have gripped the bottom of the shoe strange and my toes feel raw. I also wish this event had been held on a Friday. I am so exhausted.
Rave: I got to meet a one of the "rock stars" of the design world and talk to him and eat pizza. He is really cool and laid back. It was a really fun night.
Rant: The biggest rant I can come up with now is that my hair is frizzy from the heat and humidity today, and I also feel like my makeup isn't staying put well. But really, life is pretty good!
Rave: H is coming home this afternoon and will be here not one but two nights! This is pretty rare over the summer, so I'm thrilled. We have dinner plans for tonight and tomorrow, and are also going to the movies tonight. I can't wait to see him!
Rant: this whole offer letter thing. Three weeks and no letter--really? And when I get a call from HR, they just want to quibble about my start date? How can we even talk about a start date when I don't have a letter and can't give notice? I haven't been able to discuss anything with them--just my M.A. degree proof and my start date. It makes no sense and I have no idea why I'm being slow-played like this. Everything was going swimmingly until HR got involved. I'm starting to think that I'm not going anywhere after all.
Rave: Um, it was hard to think of one (I've been in a sour mood all week), but I get to edit the review of a famous author for our book review site. She agreed to a review and because of my interest and lit background, I got to edit. Very cool that I get to be in correspondence with her.
Rant: B is at a conference today and decided to drive. My office is on the way, so I asked him to drive me. He agreed to drive me, but then decided he was running last and dropped me off at the subway instead, where I waited 20 minutes for the train, which was of course packed.
Rave: We're going to see Bruce Hornsby tonight, and I'm super excited.
Rant: We are getting dismissed at 1:30 today. Classroom temperatures are ranging anywhere from 90-95 degrees, and kids are literally getting sick and passing out in the classrooms. Our head of school could have easily closed today (we have unused snow days), but felt it was not necessary. She has an a/c unit in her office.
Rave: I still get to go home early and am looking forward to taking a nice, long nap.
Rant: Coworkers won't stay out of my cubicle today. Seriously, they see I am busy, but I have had 1 person stop by 5 times already, and 3 others just stop by. Grrr they know I am trying to stay focused.
Rave: I actually have 2. I lost 4.2lbs this week!! Tonight I am finally getting my well needed haircut and 4:00 can't get here soon enough!
Dude is going to have to learn that just because you schedule it, doesn't mean you get to go.

Rant: My office has been catty drama land the past few weeks. We now have 26 employees and it seems like everyday I have someone at my desk complaining about someone else. It's never a true HR issues just catty high school type drama. I don't really need the drama right now and I certainly don't have time for it as I'm doing my regular job and training 2 new people right now. Some days I miss the old office with just 3 employees.
Rave: We got a larger tax return fund and workmen's comp settlement then we had anticipated, so we're planning a trip to Cozumel this fall!
Rant: I'm ready for everyone in my house to be healthy again. Sick pets and a sick husband are not a good combination because since Kyle isn't feeling well I get to clean up after the sick pets in addition to running all of the errands by myself.
Rave: As I already mentioned in my good morning post, tonight I'll be lounging by a pool, drinking wine, and watching Top Chef masters...I can't wait!
Rant:The new job opportunity I was super excited about ended up not working out, and now I'm still stuck at a job where I'm underpaid and unfulfilled.
Rave:Our backyard is almost completely fenced in and that means we get to start fostering soon! I'm hoping our current pups will adjust well.
Is this the same guy you posted about before? He seems to be going to a lot of trouble to prove he doesn't want to work, geez.
