Unprofessional to use PTO same day?
This is kind of a stupid question, but is it unprofessional in your organization schedule PTO (paid time off) the same day you want to use it, if not an emergency? I go back and forth about this one. I really want to leave 2 hours early today, just because. I'm off tomorrow because I'm going on a weekend trip, and I have tons to do before then.
I don't notice a ton of other people doing this.

Re: Unprofessional to use PTO same day?
I think it would depend on the manner of your work and your company.
Do you have time sensitive projects you are responsible for? If you leave early, will it burden others?
I have done this before on occasion when I didn't have time sensitive projects, but my organization is also very laid back, plus we work a ton of overtime and are salary so we do not get paid for overtime and leaving early is never a problem with management here.
No, it wouldn't affect anyone else. I'm a writer, so I have my own projects and deadlines (which I'm all on track for right now).
We are pretty laid back here, but I just feel guilty because I don't see a lot of it going on. I also don't really call in sick though, and many others do.
