After our second round of house-viewing, DH and I decided to put an offer in on another garage townhouse in the same community as the one we lost last week. It has a slightly different layout and about 200 more sq feet. It needs some cosmetic updates (it looks very later 80s early 90s) and has carpet vs hardwood, but we can definitely make it our own.
Anyway, our offer was accepted! So, pending a successful inspection, we're good to go.
Anyone have any favorite interior design blogs/magazines? Because that is exactly where my head went once we found out we were successful!
Re: We bought a house!
Oh Congratulations! That is so exciting.
I don't follow a lot of interior design blogs but I do read www.ana-white.com which is homedone furniture and furnishings (Kristina maybe introduced us to that one??). I also have come to terms with my age and actually find magazines like Better Homes and Gardens and Martha Stewart Living (don't like the lady but like the home decor eye candy and recipes) pretty interesting. I haven't read a Cosmo in probably a year. Sad. lol.
That's great! Congratulations!!!

A lot of people also like Apartment Therapy or YHL. Apartment Therapy is especially good if you're working with a tight space and are searching for creative ideas on how to integrate more into less. YHL is ok, but... I don't know what this couple's training is. In fact, I don't know what the training is for any of these people. However, something about their blog rubs me the wrong way. I try to read it every now and then, but it's not me.
Good luck making it your own and finding inspiration. Random question, when is your lease up?
So happy for you! YAY!
Please keep us updated on when you close escrow so we can send virtual house warming wishes!
Thanks everyone!
We are essentially month-to-month right now. Our landlord sent us a new lease that would have taken effect on May 1 but I actually forgot about it and neglected to send it back, although I've been paying the new rate. I was actually trying to decide when to clue her in that we were leaving...I'm thinking I'll wait until after the inspection to be sure that everything is ok!

Congratulations!! We've just started house hunting, too, so it's about all I can think about right now--so excited for you!!
I don't have any specific blogs that I follow, but are you on Pinterest? It's basically visual bookmarking on one website and you can follow other people's pins or browse ideas from the whole community. I spend a lot of time browsing the general home decor section for good ideas.

MY BLOG!
One of my favorite blogs...

I remember our first house. A row house on the south side of Chicago. Two bedrooms, 2 baths and needed a TON of painting. We paid 55,000 dollars for it and sold it 2 years later for 52,000 when the steel mills went under and the prices dropped.
Congrats!
