Thursday. All day.

Last night totally sucked. I was on the train for 3 hours and 7 minutes. I left work at 5:13 and walked through my door at 8:50. HATE. I literally felt like a freaking hostage. You cannot keep people who are planning on a 20-35 minute ride based on where their stop is on the train for over three hours with no bathroom, water, etc. I already sent the GM of SEPTA my complaint email.

MFD vacuumed and watered my flowers and ordered chinese, so when I got home I ate chinese, put dishes in the dishwasher, packed lunch and gym bag, removed nail polish and painted my nails. That's about all I had in me.

I have laundry to do, cleaning to do, errands to run, sheets to change, Relay baskets to assemble, etc etc etc. The cleaning will have to wait. Tonight I will undoubtedly have to work late on this proposal, and then I will just be up doing whatever I need to do for my life in general and Relay in particular - working on ceremonies, making sure everything we need is covered, putting together the Bark For Life boards, assembling my chinese auction baskets. Oy.

I'm not sure I'll make it to the gym today, and I should really get there. This proposal is nowhere near completed.

I'm so tired. I really hope Relay goes well. I also really can't wait until Sunday. I have a headache and an earache.

Re: Thursday. All day.

  • Dude, that blows.  I'd be beyond livid if I'd been stuck on a crowded, stinky rush hour train for that long.  High five to MFD for cleaning and taking care of dinner.

I didn't do much last night.  It was so hot I didn't want to move.  We went to Red Robin for dinner and I had an awesome southwest chicken salad.  Then came home and cleaned out K's car so that we can donate it.  It was nas-ty.  I'm almost embarrassed to donate it.  He basically has just used it for hunting for the past few years and it's filled with dirt and dead stink bugs.  Ick.

I also got pool passes for our community pool.  Not sure if I'm brave enough to use it, though.  I sort of have a phobia of public pools.  I always feel like I'm just bathing in a communal piss pool.  Ick!

  • Agreed re: piss pool. I always want to use it but when I approach it I sort of can't.

  • Community pools make me squicky.  I loved them when I was a kid, though, so maybe when I have children I will suck it up and take them there.  And spray them with Lysol after.

I have an undergrad student working with me now and I am super busy.  And even when we have downtime, I feel like I need to come up with things for him to do so he's not just twiddling his thumbs.  It sort of sucks because usually I get other work done in the downtime, but I would feel bad making him sit in a corner while I do other stuff and ignore him.

Ew, agreed on community pools.  Love that H is now on board with me, that our forever house should have a pool.  It's hot here!

I'm running around like crazy today, trying to finish my presentation that I'm giving tomorrow (!) - yeah, I'm late.

So my belly really changed in the last few days.  It went from kind of squishy to hardish - i.e., I've popped!  Very excited.  I told H to feel, and I think he started going 'yeah, yeah' and then was surprised that it really is baby, and his reaction changed to more of a 'holy shiit!'  People might actually figure out I'm pregnant now.  Big Smile

  • Thank goodness it's one day closer to Friday.  Yesterday at our "weekly meeting" I got chewed out for sending an email and not talking to the owner.  Long story short on 6/1 a customer called in for a return.  In our meeting that morning the owner said only he authorizes returns and if he is not in the office the customer has to wait.  Well that afternoon he was gone, so I sent him an email for approval.  The following day he went to So Cal.  On Fri 6/3 I sent him another email, no response.  On 6/7 I sent another email.  He got the third email and emiled me back why didn't I go see him when he didn't respond to my first email, blah, blah, blah.  Dude, you weren't freaking here.  I sent you the email so you can see it when you had a chance to response.  Keep in mind he ALWAYS is checking his email.  I was so flipping pissed I wanted to cry.  I stopped myself from crying because I refuse to cry in front of him.

Last night I had to stuff 1,000 envelopes for the crisis center.  It only took about two hours so it wasn't to bad.  We had pizza for dinner and the cat scratched me.  Dang, it hurt and I was bleeding like crazy.

    Thanks, Deb!

How are you doing?  Any word from AAA about the cyclist?

  • My next house is so having a pool! And larger closets.

HURRAH for popping Mush! Do your work people know you're PG?

Deb, that sucks. Dude, read your email and respond. A$$monkey.

I sent them pics of the damage and the CHP report.  Police report is still pending.  I still haven't herard about the bicyclist and keep wondering how she's doing.  I don't want to make any attempts to contact her because it may hurt me in the end.  I'll have to pay the $500 deductible which sucks.  AAA said that I could pursue the bicyclist for the $500 but I don't think I can do that.

  • I have a headache and want to go back to bed. Instead I have grocery shopping and baking to do for the weekend.

Steph - Our relay is this weekend too. I haven't even thought about how to decorate our campsite and am doing the last minute baking for an onsite fundraiser. This is the first year anyone on my team is participating so it should be interesting. Good luck with everything!

Deb, that sounds like the right thing to do, just eating the $500 deductible.  I think it's a good idea to not contact her, but I'll send her fast healing vibes.

Steph, my (small) division has known I'm pg for a while, but I'm now sharing with others, which has been fun.

Yay for the baby pop! :-)  And holy crap - I can't believe you're 16 weeks already!  Where has the time gone??

  • I've been a mess lately.  Had some spotting yesterday afternoon.  Called dr.'s office.  They had me come in for blood work and had to wait till today to hear results.  Good news is when nurse called me she said, "your levels were WAY high, meaning you're SUPER pregnant."  That made me smile.  But I'm going into tomorrow for an ultrasound so they can check things out that way.  But haven't had any other spotting so i'm thinking maybe it was a fluke and I get my 1st ultrasound a couple weeks early, so that's cool.  Fingers crossed!

Moleson, lol at "SUPER pregnant."  I'm keeping you in my thoughts!  FWIW, my doc said some spotting is normal at that stage, and that he only really worries if it's spotting + cramping.  But I completely understand that all of that is not really much reassurance.  Been there!

And yay for an early u/s!  Hope they give you some pics.

Steph - I missed in there that your Relay is this weekend!  I hope it goes super great, and then you can have a nice rest.

My BFF always volunteers for hers, and I'm finally able to join her this year, because H will be in Hong Kong for work.  I hope I'll be able to walk with her when she's up!

ETA:  And holy cow on being stuck on the train!  I assume it was mechanical difficulties or something?  Do not want.

Thanks!   Yay, with a level that high, i'm convinced that we are either going to see more than 1 baby in there, or an elephant.  Not sure which yet.........  AND twins run in the family on both sides..........  oy!

Ha!  That would be awesome.  I secretly wanted twins (knock out both kids in 1 pregnancy!), even though I'm convinced there's not enough room in my short body and torso for one baby.

::and now I'm really logging off to get some work done::

I saw you talking about it on FB, but I think I might have missed why you were on there so long.....  Was something wrong with the track or something?

  • ExcitedB - Thanks! Good luck to you! Have fun! What is your team name? Is baking your fundraiser?

You could all get those chef hats and hang aprons and wooden spoons from your tent!

  • Steph - our team is Team Janet. My aunt (Janet) is currently battling cancer (1.5 yrs now) so we formed the team to show her that we all support her and care. And yes we are doing a mini bake sale....muffins, cookies, mini cheesecakes and brownies. Our tiny team has already raised over $500 so we are hoping to get at least another $300.
  • Great work Team Janet! That's awesome! You could just cut some Js out of posterboard, decorate them, and hang them on your tent.

I love Relay. I do not love the prospect of doing it while sick (on hold with my doctor's office right now) or of talking in front of everyone at the Opening/Survivor Ceremonies and Fight Back/Closing Ceremonies.

Mary, good luck at the doc's. Yay for an early U/S! That's a great silver lining.

There were wire and power problems last night. That happens, but SEPTA screwed up by not backing its trains up and making everyone get off at a station. You can then choose to find an alterate way home - the bus, the el, another train, someone picking you up.
