Fave Portsmouth Restaurant
Hey girls, I'm meeting some friends in Portsmouth for lunch in a few weeks and was wondering where you like to eat down there. I'd like to give them a few options. We pretty much eat at the Brewing Company every time. I personally love their food, beer, atmosphere etc but not sure about these friends. I've also eaten at Poco's once and loooooooved the sangria there! Any places you can recommend?

Popovers is my favorite. It is an order at the counter sit down and eat place. Food and baked goods are fantastic. They also have booze (wine and beer).
I also really like the Blue Mermaid and the Gaslight.
I effing love Portsmouth.
I really like Poco's and you could sit out on the deck. You could also get cupcakes after from The Old Stove Bake Shoppe!
EDIT: Nevermind, it looks like The Old Stove Bake Shoppe is closed.
The Friendly Toast

Popovers is my fave. DH did internships with those guys at the Balsams and then has helped them out here when they were first setting up a couple years back. DH makes some of those recipes for us...once in a blue moon. It's like homecoming going there for us
Friendly toast is a fave and we liked Redhook. Blue mermaid and Pocos aren't up to DH's standards for quality and portion, so I've only been there once. Pretty much we love Popovers best.
I thought it did, too, actually. They had some pretty nasty health violations and I didn't see it last time we were in town, but DH seems to think it's still there. I loved that place in college! The only other place besides the Brewery we went was Muddy River and that's closed now.
