Southern style BBQ in Providence?

in Rhode Island Nesties

Since our fav BBQ place, Memphis Roadhouse, closed last year we haven't found a new good BBQ place.

We think that Wes's is just OK.  I think that Firefly's in so-so.  We are going to Dickies in Swansea one day soon.

But, my DH thought that he saw a billboard off of I-95 with an ad for a BBQ place in Providence.  Of course we never saw the billboard again to get the details.

Any ideas on what it could have been?

    United BBQ?  They are on restaurant.com at times.  Some folks I work with LOVE them.

    we like Rick's and LJ's, although I think LJ's pulled pork can be kind of fatty.

    I think it was probably Rick's Roadhouse. They had a sign up for a while. I've never been, but have wanted to try it!!

    We like Rick's Roadhouse and I do remember that billboard. I can't remember what the name of the place was...I don't think it was for Rick's though because I remember saying we needed to try it. I'll try to remember to ask DH.

    Not in Providence, but a friend of mine just raved about Joff's in Bellingham. I'm going to be giving them a try. Don't know whether it is southern-style or not, though.

    Don't know about the sign you saw, but we love Rick's.  DD loves it too- steak on a stick with cornbread is her fav.

    This is a different kind of BBQ - it's like backyard BBQ - burgers and dogs.  Really yummy wings tho!
